I don't know if it's more sad or hilarious that I literally can't tell the difference between pre- and post-Alex Jones InfoWars ads. Like, I get this is satire, but it's just not that far off from "MAKING THE FREAKING FROGS GAY."
An image from the Onion's InfoWars depicting the transparent spirit of Jimmy Carter held at bay by an Anti-Jimmy Carter Dreamcatcher™. The text reads, "While they sleep at night, your family is psychically vulnerable to President Carter's wandering spirit. He can enter minds and infect them with thoughts of solar panels. To prevent this you can make or buy a specially designed net to ensnare his ghost, and you can decorate it so it's also a piece of art that brings both protection and beauty. Protect yourselves today."

As a writer who initially unlisted their book early in their writing career--due to sheer embarrassment after realizing how bad it was because it was never edited--this is 100% MORE embarrassing than any mistake I could POSSIBLY make. Please, for the love of all that is holy, stop using this shit!

Been literal decades since I colored something and hung it on the fridge. ☺️
A page from a horror-themed coloring book featuring the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein's Monster, and Dracula. The image is framed by a spooky-looking dead tree and features a haunted house beneath a full moon in the background. The entire thing has been lovingly colored in with Crayola color pencils by yours truly and is, quite frankly, a goddamn work of art. Suck it, AI.

Yet another example of male authors writing characters purely defined by their physical attributes. It sickens me.
A "Fim Noir"-ish, black and white photo of a man steeped in hard, contrasting light and shadow. He is wearing some kind of brimmed hat, a white dress shirt, and a tie, and his face is obscured by darkness and a cloud of smoke from the cigarette firmly clamped between his lips. He is typing away on an old manual typewriter. The text accompanying the image reads "He war hammered across the room forty thousandly."

This is the greatest summation of Frankenstein I have ever seen.
A humorous comic depiction of Victor Frankenstein, having just brought his creation to life, throwing his fists up in jubilation and proclaiming, "I have created LIFE!" The monster looks up at him from the operating table and says, "thanks, I hate it."

A cover image for Stephen King's "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft." The top half of the cover is empty, black background with white text that reads the author's name and the title. The lower half of the cover is a black and white photograph of the author at work, feet crossed on the desk before him, leaning back in an office chair as he writes in a notebook. A corgi rests on the floor beneath his leg. The office looks a little busy and used, but not overly cluttered, as there are several books, notebooks, and pamphlets lying around, as well as a couple of computers and printing equipment (including a Wang computer, one of the first-ever desktops). Overall, the vibe is messy yet organized, lived-in, and cozy.

Cover image for "Kornwolf" by Tristan Golf. The cover is simple but striking; the background is a deep red, and the title spans from bottom to top on the far left side of the cover, written in blocky, almost hand-painted, white letters. The author's name serves as the open space in the center of the second "O" in the title. In the lower center of the cover is an old, woodcutting-style illustration of a black wolf with red eyes and red highlights on its body, outlined in white to match the rest of the bold lettering on the cover. Small, white words that read "A Novel" are situated at the lower right-hand corner of the image. Finally, at the center of the very top of the image, in small, white font, is the following blurb: "'A mutant amalgam of Jack Kerouac and Harry Crews...[with] talent to burn... Heady, over-the-top fun.' - Kirkus Reviews."

Cover art for Stephen King's "Cycle of the Werewolf" by artist Berni Wrightson. The top half of the nearly all black cover is dominated by the author's name and the title in light gray/silver. The bottom half shows a sort of parting in the black cover, almost as if dark clouds are parting, with a werewolf emerging from behind the opening. The background within the opening behind the werewolf is reminiscent of a sunset or perhaps a fire burning nearby, with red, pink, and orange hues.

Cover image for Peter Benchley's 1974 novel "Jaws." The cover is essentially the same composition as the movie's famous poster, but with some notable differences: the cover is entirely black, with the author's name at the very top, followed by the title in large, white letters. In the black space that makes up the bottom 2/3's the cover image, a woman is seen swimming, and below her, a large shark is swimming up toward her. The images of the woman and the shark are slightly abstract, as opposed to the more realistic imagery from the movie poster, as they are gray/white in color against the black background, conveying the basic outlines and shapes of each.

Cover art for Michael Moorcock's "The Swords Trilogy," also known as "The Chronicles of Corum," a volume containing three stories featuring an incarnation of Moorcock's Eternal Champion, Corum Jhaelen Irsei, the Prince in the Scarlet Robe. At the top of the cover is the title in large yellow text against a red background, followed by the names of all three stories in smaller white text: "The King of Swords," "The Queen of Swords," and "The Knight of Swords." The cover depicts a man riding a horse, both decked in dark, fantasy-styled armor, set against the backdrop of a deep red, cloudy sky and dark, rocky terrain. The man brandishes a brightly-shining sword in his left hand and holds a scantily-clad woman across his lap with his right arm. At the bottom of the cover is a tagline in white text that reads, "It is the time of the conjunction of the Million Spheres, and all things are possible," followed by the author's name in yellow text.
