Thanks for looking into it; these are the questions that folks using the product for research impact info will ask (or may not think about until it happens and causes problems with measuring their research impact). This is a great addition to Alt Metric, looking forward to promoting it!

Example: my article is cited in Guideline X in 2015. Guideline is updated in 2020, old guideline is removed from the org's website (never published as a journal article). Does my article still show that 2015 guideline "cite", or is it gone with the 2020 update?

Whitney Townsend @bergney.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
Thanks! This does beg the larger question: if you're pulling guideline info from lots of different online sources, some/many orgs will pull their old guidelines when they're updated so practitioners don't use them. What happens to that data then? does it stay in AltMetric, or go away?

whoopsie, forgot image alt text: screenshot of Altmetric Explorer item "Podcast Extra: from climate lawyer to climate activist" showing the following Mentions: 60 X users, 2 Facebook pages, 3 Redditors (and no guidelines)

Whitney Townsend @bergney.bsky.social · 19/11/2024
I might be doing something wrong, but your example doesn't currently show any guideline citations/mentions for this item? I've tried a few other known articles that are cited/mentioned in guidelines and they seem to be working ok...I don't trust, I try, and then if it doesn't work I ask what's up :)

Haven't been hanging around here much, but trying to get back into the Bluesky setting of things since other spaces have turned into even bigger cesspools than they were. I'll still be both here and there for the time being....

Oooh, good eye! I don't think it was an option when I first made it (or I didn't notice it :) ). I added the block to the feed and updated it, so we'll see how it works! Thank you!!!

Whitney Townsend @bergney.bsky.social · 08/02/2024
Update: I used SkyFeed to create the custom feed, and there are limited options for how many posts it will show (and no option that I saw to display a true feed of all posts with the hashtag). If anyone knows how to do this, let me know and I'll make changes! #medlibs
120
Whitney Townsend @bergney.bsky.social · 07/02/2024
When I made it, the longest option was for 24 hours (I have no idea why; and kind of useless that way?). I'll go in and see if they've updated the options, because it's been a while!

Fortunately the skunk was just as startled as we were, and we all just quickly backed away from each other.

Nothing like walking directly into a skunk to get the blood flowing during the 5:30am dog walk. (You know, the walk we take so the dog doesn't get skunked in the backyard when it's still dark out)

I usually like to show the search details (how to open it up in the advanced search) so they can see how Pubmed translates their searches if something seems wonky (if they're running searches without field tags that is). Useful, since most folks won't regularly be searching using field tags/MeSH/etc

Whitney Townsend @bergney.bsky.social · 26/09/2023
I guess I'd assume that any acronym that had several different possibilities would not be set up to map since it could get real confusing real fast...but the mystery puts it up there with the phrase index :)
100
Whitney Townsend @bergney.bsky.social · 26/09/2023
Some used to, but it was a real crapshoot which ones did (in my experience). So I'm not sure if something changed, or if those particular terms never mapped... (I'm not much help, lol)

That seems to be the case. Now that I made this post, I'm not getting an error anymore. I'll see if I can change it to have no time limit, but I think 24 hours was the upper limit in Skyfeed...
100
Whitney Townsend @bergney.bsky.social · 25/09/2023
Testing if my #medlibs feed has broken already...possibly it only shows the last 24 hours of posts, and gives an error if there aren't any?
