Odyssey, Bananza, (even BotW/TotK, just in an actual open world) all share the same staples, yet nobody bats an eye about repeating the same tired pattern. At the very least I want animal friends back in a meaningful way. Use them in unique ways to solve puzzles and explore new areas. Diversity.

I worry it'll be Nintendo's new, standard, open world formula, but with Kirby. Different areas, probably broken out into levels somehow. You'll sometimes be handed a collectible, or slight challenge of a fight or puzzle, occasionally a timed instance. You'll get way more than needed to progress.

I don't really play MMOs, but it just seems like FFXIV is better in various ways and WoW doesn't really change much. I've also never encountered anyone playing other MMOs (FFs, ESO, Runescape, etc) who had those games damage their lives like WoW players have. I suppose you soley "fault" the addict?

Nice sentiment that I normally would agree with, but you could say the same about people who are addicted to hard drugs. I've seen what this game does to people. Find me a game that's ended more relationships and destroyed more lives than this one.

I'll never understand what people see in this game, especially when FFXIV is better in every way. I mean, this is basically a variation of WoW Classic from my understanding. More nostalgia bait for the Blizzard sheep, cheaper than trying to actually innovate, huh? Consider a documentary on addicts.

Just the little I know of you being focused on retro games and game history. From what I've noticed most people with that kind of palette seem less inclined to play stuff like Fortnite. I'll look forward to you being on Retronauts next year when the game turns ten and qualifies for an episode.
