Philadelphian. Printmaking, bicycles, childrearing, farting around. Destroy what destroys you. The world is still a beautiful place.

I was gonna go on a long bike ride with the kids today but the air pollution is bad so I’ve made the healthy choice of introducing them to fine Canadian cuisine.
A bowl of poutine. It’s proper poutine, not some bullshit American craft beer bar bullshit with beef gravy and bacon and shredded cheddar. This is gravy mix from Bulk Barn (somehow vegetarian), fries, and proper cheese curds.

You ever have a couple buddies pop by to pick up a couple tiny bike bits then they stay for quesadillas then hang in the backyard listening to the Phillies game while you put the kids to bed and the Phillies win and DSA wins and a messenger of God graces you all with his presence? Life ain’t all bad

It is one hour until I am hopping on the 3 bus to take a five and six year old to the theater to see a Super Mario movie and I can do it with a wee buzz on because I live that dreamy car-free life.
An open book bookmarked with a mechanical pencil sitting on a dive bar countertop in front of the drink of the people of Philadelphia— a special— which is just cheap whiskey and cheap beer.

I love it when my homies text me, “Yo there are two abandoned bikes on my block. Want me to snag them for you?” I live for this. Highlight of my day. It’s road bike summer, ya trash picking dirtbags!

Caging and deportations are the devil’s work. Liberation and welcome are what Jesus, the leader of the cosmic jailbreak, invites us to join. Which side are you on?
Close-up of linocut print. Prisoners gather around Jesus as he leads them out of hell’s earthly manifestation.

Hell is harrowed.
Linocut print of a variation on the Anastasis icon. Instead of the gates of Hades under Christ’s feet it’s the signage from an ICE concentration camp. Adam and Eve and the saints are depicted as Jesus’ fellow inmates. The torn-asunder cliffs of Hell are here shown as the barbed wire and chain link of the modern carceral punishment system.

A sign that says “JUNK CARS WANTED” but a sticker reading “HORSES” has been placed over the word “CARS.” Junk horses wanted. UGLYHORSES.com

Friend told me she likes my writing and I said “Like what?” and she showed me this text and photo I had sent her.
Text message reading “I miss when known carcinogens were pedaled by festive humpless bipedal camels.”Dromedary-headed erect two-legged creatures in fashionable 90s-era Cool Guy apparel smokin’ cigs and singing Christmas carols in an idyllic wintry neighborhood.

Rode the bicycle to a creek, climbed on a rock, saw a majestic osprey.

I have a pretty bicycle and I like to ride it pretty places.
Classic lugged steel bicycle (it’s a 1994 Bridgestone RB-T but you’d probably not guess it right away as it has been repainted a glossy forest green sans decals) with flared drop bars, wald basket mounted to Nitto rando rack, and on the rear a raggedy well-worn Carradice saddlebag. The bike is leaning against a defunct sugar shack with a sign reading “Pure Pennsylvania Maple Syrup sold here.” Disappointingly the nectar of the tree gods was not available for purchase.

Made this print four or five years ago. Image and text had no relation. Just felt like carving toad and I don’t like cops.
Linocut print by Ben Wildflower of a toad eating a worm. Above the toad’s head in a suggestion of the shape of a halo are the words DEFUND THE POLICE.

Me, about 24 hours ago.
In the foreground, a thumbs down. Behind that, a cybertruck driving on a Philly street.
