I don't think enough people are talking about Jake Woodford.

Mason Englert isn't a big "miss bats" guy but he does know the strike zone. Is this multi-inning reliever the next "convert to starter" candidate? @benwhitelaw73.bsky.social say: maybe? www.draysbay.com/tampa-bay-ra...

This is the first time they’ve carried multiple bat-over-glove catchers on their 40 man roster. Framing will still be important to some extent with the challenge system, but we might be entering a catcher offense era

I like Nick Martinez for his command and fastball-offspeed pairing. His locations are relatively consistent and he throws lots of strikes. Outlier VAA separation between his fastball and changeup. I have it as two standard deviations above average. Velo separation is really high too

The stability of the infield group coupled with the improvements in the outfield make me excited for 2026. I’ll cover the catching group in a piece probably next week, but that group already looks significantly better than what we saw last year

Any time Ben Whitelaw (who is not on Bluesky or I'd tag him) writes, we are all both entertained and educated. Worth the read!
