Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 26/07/2026I'm adding a unplanned API layer because my son is building his life tracking/note taking/thought capturing/insight steering app, and he wants to push some of it into Storyus. If this was all hand-coded, I couldn't justify prioritising it... but we're having a blast dev'ing into each others apps. 020
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 26/07/2026This era of software is totally liberating. It's turned building into the most immersive weekend pastime. Turned Fable up to 20x Max and am having to time my bursts I've released more Storyus updates the last 3 weeks than the 5 years prior. 120
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 05/07/2026But we've finally finished implementing Storyus 'Streams'. Which I've been wishing we had for about 2 years. 010
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 05/07/2026Sunday intermittently chatting with Fable while watching the British F1, is really satisfying. Fable isn't perfect, and when reviewing diffs, we have had to chat about a few of it's choices, and misunderstandings, but it is very close to slacking with pretty competent mid+ developer. 100
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 04/07/2026Now, in an AI augmented world, I am enjoying a coffee on a Saturday morning, and strolling back and forth to my office to finally start enhancing the Storyus platform once more. 120
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 04/07/2026One of my dreams, if I made it big, I hoped to hire a small group of devs to help me build the software I wished existed. Generally platforms than emphasise meaning and togetherness and reflection and gratitude. i.e. things unlikely to be commercially viable or to receive funding. 100
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 04/07/2026Since 2017 I've been slowly creating the social platform I wished existed for my family ( storyus.life ). 4 years of coding in the evenings and weekend. Then for the 5 years I have been working the most engrossing and fast moving of startups which, after family, left little or no time.storyus.lifeYour photos are just the start of Your StoryStoryus® - the Slow Social, family-friendly storytelling platform 110

Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 16/01/2026Just took my first ever ‘domestic’ flight (Newark to SF). So wild to be able to just walk straight off the plane and out of the building - no passport or customs stuff. Which would have made more difference if I didn’t have checked luggage 000
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 13/01/2026I may rather dislike flying… but goodness me I like where it takes me sometimes #northernlights 0121
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 21/08/2025I kid you not, for our penultimate stay of the trip - we’ve rented part of a castle in Germany! (If you zoom in you can see us in the balcony.) 020
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 19/08/2025Same spot in Austria at sunset, 7 years apart, almost to the day. We’re heading towards the final leg of this wonderful roadtrip, and feeling incredibly proud of the amazing young adults that Jack and Zoe have become, and extremely privileged that we’ve got to share this journey with them 070
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 19/08/2025Waking up to wonderful Austria - and what I think is my favourite place in the world. It was the highlight of our 2018 trip, and still lives up to the memories. 020
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 16/08/2025This has been an epic place to stay, way up on the mountainside with cracking views over Lake Garda 130
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 11/08/2025Italy is an interesting mix of extremes This morning: registering for the ‘tollgate-free toll roads’ which were only sign posted once already on it… and requires passport uploads etc Also this morning: eating fresh figs from the tree while looking out over this stunning vineyard filled landscape 020
Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 07/08/2025Day 15 of Eurotrip 2025 Waking up in the vineyards of Italy is pretty special. 020

Ben Seymour @benseymour.com · 06/07/2025We live about 30 miles south of Silverstone. Sitting in the garden room watching the #F1 race is adding a visceral additional dimension. One minute I’m drying the SUPs in glorious sun, then next it’s hoofing it down and I’m scrambling to bring everything and and to close up 110
