Let’s get something straight, City aren’t the only club with rich owners. At least a dozen English clubs have billionaire owners. Arsenal’s owners are worth about £18 billion but we still play by the rules. Same goes for many other clubs. City owners chose to cheat, simple as that!

Rich owners can invest into their clubs infrastructure and community and increase income levels through natural means instead of just coming along and lining the pockets of already rich footballers and then leaving the place in tatters once they get bored.

The rules are not stopping clubs or owners from spending but that money has to come from a self sustainable system, because rich owners can walk away at anytime and leave the community in ruins.

Rules are rules and they were agreed upon by the majority of the leagues structure. Everyone else is abiding by those rules. City have been found guilty of doing all sorts of dodgy dealings trying to circumvent those rules.

As someone who works with most of the UKs clubs at all levels, I can assure you that the rules are there to prevent clubs from going extinct and not targeted at any one club. Just look back at what has happened to some football clubs such Rangers, Leeds, Bury etc..
