Four take aways for me… We got entertaining, front foot football for large parts of the game ✅ They showed some real balls and togetherness ✅ The bench made a difference ✅ Bentancur has to be sold in Jan ❌

Badenoch struggles to adopt the appropriate demeanour for any given statement she makes or thought she has. Timbre, facial expression, emphasis, volume all wrong. It’s like watching a spectacularly bad lead in a 6th form production. #kemi

Possible putting a gooner-hating lens on this but has saka lost about 4 yds of pace? That’s twice he hasn’t been able to keep up with a break.

Plenty of good football for 50-60 mins but that’s a poor loss. Never should have happened.

Tuchel repeating exact same mistake by not replacing energy up front. No way in the universe Kane, even Bellingham, should still be on looking this leggy.

Really decent first half from England. But O’Reilly and Lewis- Skelly are not ready to wear the shirt just yet. Too many errors in the moments that matter.

Johnson is a profoundly confusing player. Demonstrated scoring ability at the highest level but to say he is technically limited is to grossly overstate his quality.

I want my country back. By that, I mean a country where I would be confident that a thug who livestreamed himself stabbing an RNLI dingy on an active operation would a) Be universally condemned b) Be swiftly arrested, put on trial and if found guilty, face many years in jail. I miss that country.

If you are a forward team mate of Rashford’s I expect at least 92% of your match playing minutes are filled with a quiet rage that he never, ever looks up to find where you are or play you in.

Bit unlucky with VdV being off when they scored and it’s a Robertson error but not converting in the first 30 mins is nothing to do with luck. The forward players have to do better. It’s on them.

Brentford such a good team. First to everything whether it’s on the ground or in the air, move the ball forward fast and with purpose, technically strong. Scum suffering from same thing we do - no tip to their spear. Can only do so much in the final third before it falls apart.

Seems like a misguided self-analysis of what he did wrong. The big question isn’t really about going to a 5 at 72 mins. The big question is why didn’t 2 of Rashford/Saka/Watkins come on for Kane and Rice to force Argentine to have some cover. www.theguardian.com/football/202...

So much to like. The on pitch flaws are in the details: Fernandes chances falling to L foot Marmoush ropey first touch Overplaying in wide areas But a Tonali/Fernandes/Bentancur selection is waving the white flag on central progression. Sorry Roberto but at home it can only be two of those three.

From first 5 minutes the lack of control was v similar to previous 2 seasons. Big money signings had horror shows but the real story is how the entire team couldn’t make anything stick. Poor passes & poor touches everywhere - and yeah, Brentford were aggressive & close - it’s the fucking Prem boys.
