I have the same problem with my own and now can't install the new Google Chrome version. Thinking about installing Linux on my Macbook Pro because the hardware still works well and is enough for my personal usage.

I’m not anti AI, I use it every day and I will continue to. But, I think it's important to take a strp back, think about and keep the right use of AI to find the right balance.

I used JetBrains IDEs for over a decade before switching to VS Code a year ago. Now that I’ve returned to JetBrains, I remember why I like it, everything works perfectly right out of the box. The only thing I miss is the Dev Container integration, which is still more powerful in VS Code.

This allows me to push my side projects much further. However, I’m definitely still faster at performing certain tasks in my IDE than with an agent. I don't know how this translates to a professional context yet, but I hope to test that soon.

Benoît Hagenbourger @benoit.hagenbourger.fr · 23/03/2026
Productive: The agent can work on my project while I’m doing other things around the house. I try to avoid doing this for things I actually want to learn, but it’s very useful for boilerplate tasks.

Powerful: I never get stuck with an assistant, especially when testing something new or looking for how to start.

Benoît Hagenbourger @benoit.hagenbourger.fr · 23/03/2026
I’m biased because, for now, I mainly use AI coding agents on side projects. I use these projects to test things I don’t already know. In that context, I feel both more productive and more powerful.
