5 days until ballots go out. 26 until Election Day. Prices keep climbing, the lake keeps shrinking, and the people in charge keep doing just fine. They’re counting on the rest of us to stay home. We’re not. I hope you'll join us. mobilize.us/benmcadamsforcongressut01

We talked about the cost of college and what Trump is doing to higher education. I understand where they're coming from. I worked three jobs to get through school, sold plasma to make rent, and I'm still paying off my student loans. Students now are carrying far more than I did. They deserve better.

Thanks to the University of Utah College Democrats for having me last night. We talked about how I got into this work and why I'd encourage any of them to try public service. You get to see your work show up in people's lives, and that never gets old.

We are 28 days away from an incredibly consequential election, and whoever wins will have big decisions to make. Will we step up and save the Great Salt Lake? Are we going to protect our public lands? Are we going to make life more affordable for Utahns?

Ben McAdams @benmcadams.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
Those are the stakes of this election, and that's why this issue can't be treated like a normal policy debate. I don't want to think about what happens if we get this wrong. Let's make sure we don't.

Most political fights are reversible. A bad law gets repealed. A bad budget gets rewritten next session. Utah's public lands aren't that kind of fight — once we carve up our land for mining, drilling, and logging, no next election undoes it.

I won’t sit on the sidelines and watch powerful people rob our neighbors of their health care and food assistance. I’m going to put Utah and its people first.

This election isn’t really about Republicans versus Democrats. It’s about the people almost two thousand miles away in Washington making Utahns’ lives that much harder—and about the people who are enabling them.

Thank you to the Utah Debate Commission, Natalie Gochnour, and everyone who tuned in to watch the debate last night. 34 days, let's go win this thing!

That became Mountain Accord, and it gave us a plan everyone signed on to. What's still missing is Congress writing it into law. I'll sponsor the Central Wasatch National Conservation and Recreation Area Act and America's Red Rock Wilderness Act, and I'll work to get both passed.

These canyons supply much of the drinking water for the Salt Lake Valley. They're where we ski, climb, hike, and take our kids on weekends. When I was Salt Lake County Mayor, I brought local governments, conservation groups, ski resorts, and recreation folks to the same table.

Yesterday I sat down with Charlie Luke from The Wilderness Society, Dani Poirier from the Wasatch Backcountry Alliance, and Jack Statuss from Save Our Canyons, along with their team, to talk about what it'll take to finally protect the Central Wasatch in Congress.

Washington feels chaotic right now. You keep showing up anyway because you believe this still works when people take part. I'm with you, and I'm grateful for every one of you. Five weekends left until Election Day. Come knock doors with us: benmcadams.com

Ben McAdams is running for Congress because what’s happening in Washington isn’t working for people.  Politicians in both parties are out of touch. They don’t understand what it’s like to struggle to…

Saturday mornings are busy. There's soccer, yard work, and maybe the chance to finally sleep in. This crew spends theirs knocking doors and making calls across Salt Lake County, so their neighbors know when, where, and how to vote.

Days like these make the campaign trail feel like a reunion. Saturday, I spent the day knocking on doors with Liz Oates in Magna, Sen. Karen Kwan and Rep. Jake Fitisemanu in West Valley City, and Rosemary Lesser, CJ Hernandez, and Peter Crosby in Ogden.

Sen. Karen Kwan is one of the hardest workers in the Utah Legislature. Voters are hurting, and they need to know someone's fighting for them. That means showing up and having important conversations. Get out and vote this year! If you've got an hour or two to spare, we need you knocking doors too.

I’ve fought hard to modernize our electric grid and bring clean energy to Utah because my constituents knew it was what was best for their short-term health and long-term prosperity. I plan to continue my fight for clean energy if Utahns send me back to Congress this November.
021
Ben McAdams @benmcadams.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Clean energy is a win-win for our climate and Americans’ wallets. This is a lose-lose. It’s not fair to you that the fossil fuel industry now gets a blank check to pollute your community and our planet while they reap record profits from the Iran War.

Washington has run up the tab on Utah families for long enough. Talk is cheap, but nothing else is. We are done picking up the tab for their decisions.

Ben McAdams @benmcadams.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
I know what it's like to grow up on the wrong end of somebody else's decision. I'm running so your family doesn't have to. Starting day one in Congress: housing relief, restoring the health care that got cut, and ending the corruption that's driving your costs up in the first place.

Ben McAdams @benmcadams.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
The price is not right. Gas, groceries, rent, your health care premium — nobody asked us if we wanted this. We just got the bill while someone else got richer. Today I rolled out my pledge to tackle rising costs for Utah families — my first three priorities in Congress.

I'm spending this Saturday out with Liz Oates, Sen. Karen Kwan, Rep. Jake Fitisemanu, Rosemary Lesser, CJ Hernandez, and Peter Crosby — because winning UT-01 isn't enough. We have to keep building the bench underneath it, in every corner of this state. RSVP at www.mobilize.us?org_ids=47344

Housing, healthcare, groceries, all going up, and full-time work doesn't stretch the way it used to. Talking to folks like Tom Davidson reminded me why this fight matters as much now as it ever did. Unions built the middle class once. We need them to do it again.

Ben McAdams @benmcadams.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
It's easy to forget who built the middle class in this country. It was people in unions who fought for the 40-hour week, for safe jobs, for wages you could actually raise a family on. Right now that's under pressure again.

Happy Labor Day, Utah! Today, we celebrate the accomplishments of the American labor movement in our society. Without organized labor, we wouldn't have weekends, workers' compensation, or overtime pay. I'm proud to stand with Utah workers and unions as we all continue to fight for a fairer America.

I've been knocking doors with Jake because none of this is possible without people willing to do the work. You don't have to live in District 30 to help. Anyone and everyone can make a difference. Go to jakeforutah.com to learn more and get involved.

Do you have a plan to vote?

Ben McAdams @benmcadams.bsky.social · 05/09/2026
Jake Fitisemanu was a WVC Councilman, then flipped House District 30 in 2024 because voters trusted him to keep showing up for them. He is incredibly thoughtful and curious, listens before he legislates, and truly looks out for his neighbors. That's the kind of leader this state needs more of.

Supporting good candidates in down-ballot races matters to me as much as anything happening at the top of the ticket – this year and every year. There's one candidate in particular I want to start by highlighting.

I fought for nondiscrimination protections and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Utah’s LGBTQ+ community during my time in the State Legislature, and I’ll continue to do so in Congress.

I’m proud to have the support of the Human Rights Campaign—America’s foremost organization in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality. As LGBTQ+ Americans face attacks at home and in Washington, our country needs leaders who are committed to standing up for inclusion and equality, even when it’s hard.

Rain came down, the trail turned to mud, but big smiles at the finish line anyway. This is what Utah's public lands are for. Get outside, get dirty, have a good time with your family. That's a good weekend.

I had a great visit with a few Boy Scout troops talking about public service — what the job really looks like and why civic engagement starts long before you're old enough to vote. These Scouts had sharp questions and will be voting before we know it. Utah's future is in good hands.

Perhaps Trump should focus on the lake that actually needs saving.

This is what happens when out-of-touch politicians in Washington call the shots for places they know nothing about. I've had enough, and Utah has too.

Repealing the Roadless Rule doesn't just mean that huge swathes of our national forests would be cut down for the timber industry. It would do the exact opposite of what the Trump Administration says it does and make wildfires even worse.

If elected, I’ll work to end the senseless and cruel ICE arrests. I’ll work to fix our broken immigration system so people can immigrate legally and focus law enforcement on those who are actually dangerous to public safety.

I’m grateful for the faith leaders who shared their stories about how federal policies are harming their communities. If elected, I’ll work to end the senseless and cruel ICE arrests.

I met with faith leaders from across Utah who shared with me concerns from their congregations. People’s fears of ICE are keeping them from their places worship. I heard this right as the news broke about ICE crackdowns in Southern Utah.

Today we honor the legacy of the brave suffragists who fought for this right and commit ourselves to ending gender inequality in America. In Congress, I'll continue to fight to close the wage gap, secure women's bodily autonomy, and oppose efforts like the SAVE Act.

And the Administration refuses to own up to Trump's role in the Epstein Files—or his role in covering them up. This is an Administration in moral decline: decline it promised to reverse for the rest of the country. It's heartbreaking.

Trump and his Administration promised transparency and accountability for survivors of sexual assault and sex trafficking. He's delivered the opposite. Grants for survivors have been canceled, anti-trafficking experts have been reassigned to boost Trump's heartless immigration raids.

Conservationists say the facility would speed up habitat loss for the shorebirds and waterbirds the lake is known for, and undercut the state's own promises on water conservation and lake salinity.

In May, Gov. Cox promised that data center development in Utah would protect the Great Salt Lake's water first. This week, the state held a hearing on a wastewater plant in Tooele County – on a site "strategically designed" for data centers – that would discharge industrial brine into the wetlands.
