TCM Host since 2003. CBS Sunday Morning Contributor. I can read a teleprompter better than anyone you know unless you know Mary Hart. Or Mario Lopez. Or John Tesh. That’s me and Nancy Allen. Because that was cool.

Alicia is a genius and isn’t on social media. But she’ll be happy to hear this.

And you might be right. I might’ve been unqualified. But I’m qualified now. And you have every right to think I’m bad at my job. You’re not alone. And I have every right to believe you’re a lazy arm-chair critic with a lack of concern for detail and a penchant for hacky writing.

They liked my tape from anchoring a news show in Miami. I’d been a TV reporter & anchor journalist for 10 years when they hired me.

My grandfather, a screenwriter, died 50 years before I was hired. Joe, my great uncle, died a decade before. I’ve benefitted in life from being a Mankiewicz. No doubt. I’m proud of my family. But the notion that TCM hired me because of my long-dead screenwriting relatives is silly.

We talked a great deal about Keishi all night. We devoted the commentary at the end to Ozu, still unknown to many movie fans. Our sources are always books and pieces of journalism. You wanna call me a nepo baby, fine, but it’s that’s an ignorant “Wikipedia” move….(more)

This be fair to Kanye, perhaps he meant Vic Hitler, the narcoleptic comic from Hill Street Blues, played by Terry Kiser.
