Undefeated Sudbury Wolves enter the #CHL Top 10 rankings at No. 9. Also moved up one spot in the #OHL Power Rankings this week to No. 2.

With Paolo Frasca seemingly immovable in the Sudbury Wolves crease at the moment, Owen Leonard has made two starts in goal for Mississauga of the #OJHL this week and has been impressive with two wins, a 1.50 GAA and a tidy .961 SvP. Bjorn Bronas has returned to practising after a foot injury. #ohl

Former Sudbury Wolves F Daniel Berehowsky, now with Chicoutimi of the QMJHL, set a team record Thursday for the quickest two goals by the same player, coming just six seconds apart late in a 5-4 loss to Charlottetown. One second off the league record shared by four players.

Sudbury up 7-1. Provorov on the two-main advantage. #ohl

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Wolves have scored on four of seven power plays. Now they'll go to another five on three.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Lemieux makes it 6-1 and the IceDogs stir up another scrum after the goal with 50.6 seconds remaining. #ohl

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

That will all end with Niagara's Read in the box and the Wolves on the power play.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Ula with a big hit and he gets double-teamed, with one player throwing punches at him from behind. Harris then ends up fighting Edgar and gets some hard punches in to take the nod. Just 1:08 left in this wild third period.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Some great saves late from the Niagara netminder, then a block by Hull.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Make that a four on three as Kwajah gets caught for a trip.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Wolves will emerge from this with a five on three.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Penalty coming against the IceDogs. Patrik Ula gets dumped from behind after the whistle and tangles with Knauft, then gets a couple of takedowns and swings in against his opponent. Works the crowd as he heads off the ice with 4:11 to go.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Back to five on five. Wolves lead 5-1 with less than five minutes remaining. Sudbury pressing again here.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

A couple ejections, but it's the Wolves who will get the extra minor to Kearns. Greene will serve with 7:21 to go in the third.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

IceDogs player takes a shot at Kearns with the linesman already involved, so Kearns replies with a couple of punches over the top. That will be the end of the night for the Wolves defenceman.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Wolves kill the penalty. They lead 5-1 with nine minutes to go in the third.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Kearns on his way back to the box. Wolves to the kill as they approach the midway mark of a rather eventful third.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

I'm barely keeping up here. Norman Greene with his second goal in the #OHL makes it 5-1 for the home side. Kwajah and Smith assist.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Floodgates are open here in Sudbury. With Ula causing havoc in front of the net, this time it's Chovan who gets the feed from Nemec and converts from a sharp angle. PPG makes it a 4-1 Wolves lead. #ohl

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

And now the Wolves draw another penalty as Greene gets hit up high by Lewandowski with almost seven minutes gone in the third.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Make that 3-1. Wolves' top line is just buzzing after the Ula goal and Nemec converts on the cross-crease feed from Chovan this time. JC Lemieux with the other helper. #ohl

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

... and they make good on it. Chovan denied on one chance, but they gets it cross crease to Genc Ula and he bats it home. Wolves lead 2-1 on his second of the season. Nemec also assists. #ohl

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Hull trips Gonchar and Wolves have a huge opportunity here on a power play around five minutes into the third.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Sudbury's Chovan misses on a great chance to put the team in front. Wolves captain Clayton down and hurt behind the play. Gets to his feet and heads down the tunnel, favouring one foot. Think there was an awkward collision behind the Niagara net, but didn't get a good look.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Frasca with a glove save just as Harris exits the box. Niagara didn't generate much on the four-minute man advantage. Still 1-1.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Third has started in Sudbury. Wolves tied 1-1 with IceDogs and are once again on the kill to start a period.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Sudbury Wolves and Niagara IceDogs tied 1-1 after 40 minutes as JC Lemieux ties things up on a power play with his third of the season. Shots 21-18 in favour of the Wolves, who will have 2:12 left to kill in Harris' double minor to start the third. #ohl

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

It's a four-minute penalty for Kingston Harris. Big kill coming up for the Wolves. Sudbury coach Barney wants to chat with the official, but is rebuffed.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

OK, they're checking for a double minor against the Wolves.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Tablets are suddenly out late in the second. Officials must think they missed a call.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

IceDogs with another good chance as they put the puck in th blue paint. Cheynowski headlocks Kearns as they get tangled up after a whistle. Officials are in there right away and no penalties are called, but Kearns is not happy as he heads to the bench.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Lemieux gets a stretch pass for a quick break, but Yermolenko makes the stop.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Some good push-back by the IceDogs late in the middle period results in a chance for Hull. Frasca makes his 14th straight stop after allowing a goal on the very first shot of the game. Still 1-1.

110

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Niagara's Smith hits a post behind Frasca. He also struck iron against Barrie last night.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Jan Chovan had the other assist on Lemieux's goal

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Lemieux finally gets the Wolves on the board with a rocket of a one-timer off the feed from Nemec that goes around the back bar and out. Lemieux's third of the season makes it 1-1 as they near the midway mark of the second. #ohl

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Just 11 seconds left in the Sudbury PP and Dell'Elce will now head off. Short five on three for the Wolves.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Martin joins the rush and gets a scoring chance, but he's hooked by Cheynowski. Wolves right back to the PP with just over eight minutes gone in the second, still trailing 1-0.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

IceDogs kill the penalty. Smith out of the box for a breakaway and misses, then Frasca makes a big save on Cheynowski.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Niagara's Smith to the box now and Wolves get their second power play of the night.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Frasca with a stop on a two on one that seemed to develop out of nowhere. That's his ninth save of the evening.

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Wolves kill the penalty to Kearns. They trail 1-0. Niagara now 0 for 4

100

Ben Leeson @benjaminleeson.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Action underway in the second period in Sudbury. Wolves trailing Niagara 1-0 and have 1:53 of a penalty to kill.
