Yeah I was disappointed by Lord Black. He seemed to have returned to standing for Canada with his column about Canadian resilience and where he thought Washington had gone wrong, but must’ve gotten an angry phone call from Mar-a-Lago. I expected more older conservatives to react like Harper.

Was going to snark about how it’s just a question of whether Matthews gets back to form, but saw that Caufield scored 51 last season, so it’s an actual difficult question. Could see Matthews getting back to ~55 goals this season fairly simply (if he just was hurt), but Caufield could do that too.

Yes we Canseco. Always liked him (after we beat the As in 1992), and he had one legendary season as a Jay. Showed up in ‘98, hit 46 home runs including a 500-level moonshot, then peaced out. If I ever get a 1998 Blue Jays jersey, it will be a Canseco.

Canadian voters often do not punish political skulduggery, but when they do, it’s always very funny. The first Premier of Ontario I remember is David Peterson, who called an election three years into a majority mandate (1990 after 1987) because he was at 51% in the polls. He lost to the NDP.

About the Greenland deal. It's a minor victory for Trump, in that the American presence there is no longer tied to NATO and is agreed to by the Greenland government, which would survive independence. That said the US is viewed less as a friend and more as a predator, now. So that's a cost.

So I think it’s time for Ontario to get rid of time changes too. Generally I’ve been for switching to Standard Time all year round, because words should mean things, but if people demand Daylight Savings all year, whatever, fill your boots. Now that most provinces west of us do it, fine.
