Also, what’s the deal with these!?

Benjamin Hyneck @benhyneck.bsky.social · 29/08/2025

Singapore has so many different facets. Here a satay hawker standing in the smoke, an old folks e-scooter gang and of course the picturesque marina bay

Tried picking up a rental car - this was the rear left tire. Cancelled the booking. Would you have driven it?

Cmon look at this airport. Almost feels a bit embarrassing to depart from BER

Touching down in Singapore always feels special to me. Even squeezed out a little tear.

Hello Singapore!!! 🇸🇬 It’s been a while. “Willkommen zuhause” the immigration terminal welcomed me in German.

Had an issue with Fedora logging me out after a few minutes and none of my attempts of fixing it worked. Asked the Fedora Discord Channel - got it solved in 5 minutes. Really cool community!

Fedora fully installed, updated and configured in less than 30 min. Really nice

Been running bazzite for a month now. Overall great experience but too pre-configured for my taste. Back to Fedora

I pay for a great VPN - fast, reliable, no complaints. Except one: every time I need it, I spend 5 minutes trying to remember what it’s called. If you're building a VPN product, please put "VPN" in the name. Looking at you, Hotspot Shield.

Google is absolutely smashing it on the AI front recently. Veo3, notebookLM, ai studio, ai for education, genie 3, Gemini 2.5 pro etc Those tools combined with their user base - they will be on top of this new industry very soon. Buy GOOG

My iPhone 12 PM is starting to act up. Especially the cameras. Seems like a hardware issue. Crap. Time to switch to Android? Pixel 10?

The biggest myth in business negotiations? That someone has to lose. Great negotiators don’t go in with fists up. They go in with open minds. They listen. They explore. They co-create a deal that works for both sides. 💡 A good negotiation feels like a dance, not a fight.

“Helsinki has not recorded a single traffic fatality in the past 12 months, city and police officials confirmed this week.” City engineer credits lower speed limits and smart design. I agree. #Helsinki #VisionZero

Helsinki goes a full year without a traffic death

A city traffic engineer credits the success to lower speed limits and smarter design.

With wife and kids out of town, I am realizing what a simple eater I am: The last 4 days have been chicken wraps with some salad that I meal prepped on Saturday. The next 4 days will be bolognese.

I can't describe how much joy it is to create workshops in Miro. It's like adult lego for me - piece by piece something fun and beautiful comes together.

Singapore is definitely the peak of convenience. Kiddo broke his phone. Tech came same day to fix it at home for a hundred bucks. Wild!

Been tinkering with Bazzite on the Beelink SER8 all morning. Wifi absolutely trash - assumed it's the hardware and the fact that the Mini PC has a metal case and internal wifi antennas. Turns out it's been a Linux setting: Power Save Mode was turned on. Once turned off, it now runs beautifully
