Haven't posted this one before for some reason. Anyhow, It's one of my ‘Grey’ paintings and I’m very fond of it. It's big, it's grey, it's ‘Guillaume’. Oil on Canvas, 183x122 cm. #surrealism #painting #art #oilpainting #traditionalart

‘The Fall’ is a largely symbolic painting, which also makes reference to a passage in Moby Dick. The piece is also featured in the 200th anniversary edition of the great novel by Herman Melville. #painting #art #wip #contemporaryart #surrealism #sculpture #sea

Sculptural and almost photographic from a distance, these paintings are infact made with very loose, almost calligraphic linework upon closer inspection. ‘Imbroglio’ 150x152cm #painting #art #hyperrealism #creative #inspiration #contemporaryart #dark #gothic #surrealism #sculpture #bodies #statues

Painting 'Doomsday / the Sermon'. My paintings reference sculptures which give them an 'uncanny' feeling - solid and anchored in reality, yet crude and unfinished, as though the residue of an unfinished thought. #slowart #oilpainting #traditionalpainting #fineart #surrealism #realism #painting

Working on 'Colossus.' This is a self-portrait of sorts, as Ahab. Based on the sculpture, which lends the painting that solid- but strange quality. #fineart #contemporaryart #oilpainting #realism #painting #surrealism

Putting some finishing touches on ‘A Burial at Sea.’ This, like many of my oil paintings, was based on a sculpture. I had to use a number of glazes to get the figure to emerge #Art #RealistPainting #Surrealist #FigurativeArt #darksurrealism #painting

Working on one of my sculptures. This particular base has appeared in several paintings in various ways, notably 'A Burial at Sea' and 'The Fish and the Crab'. There are also less obvious incarnations - perhaps you can find them. #art #sculpture #wip #realism
