No reason to worry about a plague escaping a Russian lab. We just have to trust in the transparency and capability of a Putin led regime.

Newest episode of Lanterns lost me. No way a top prospect would consider Navy along with Michigan and Nebraska.

Revisions submitted for Imagined World Orders: Tom Clancy and US National Security. Pressing the send button felt good.

Working revisions on Imagined World Orders and continuing to come across great sources. The first is Clinton giving Clarke his copies of The Cobra Event and Rainbow Six and the second is Gingrich telling Rumsfeld he needs to work with Clancy to expand his reach. Love how this book is coming together

Revising Imagined World Orders and came across how the Pentagon responded initially to supporting Clear and Present Danger. They said no and needed revisions. USMC wanted foes more dangerous than LA rioters, Army wanted better armed "peasants," and the Coast Guard wanted to do more. t.co/gorTwSeOwJ

Watched Dusty Rhodes "Hard Times" promo tonight for reasons I can't explain. Unfathomably, it cleared a block I had in Imagined World Orders. A connection I'd struggled to make for over a year is now clear. Writing is so dumb sometimes....

"Dear Bill" from Operation Mincemeat is an utterly devasting song. Keep coming back to it and it hits the same way every time as I've never heard something that captured my fear of being left behind while deployed so well. That the song is to a doomed Soldier makes it hit even harder.

First day of the semester. Looking forward to teaching US history to plebes again. Great to have classrooms full of cadets at the beginning of a great journey.

Took the family to see Operation Mincemeat on Broadway today and it was incredible. A well told history that was hilarious and moving. Definitely my favorite musical about deception operations in the Second World War.

I always promised myself I would watch movies for what they are and not get caught up in accuracy. Brink of War's trailers are testing me. Incredible cast that seems to be put in service of a script untethered from reality.

Loved hearing "Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio in the opening montage in Spider-Man Brand New Day. Took me back to being a smartass 2LT who had a Squadron Commander who believed he was a reincarnated wolf. Somehow, when I was in charge of the playlist for PT the song featured prominently

The Odyssey was incredible, the three hours flew by. Nolan's use of different narrators is very effective.

Happy 250th USA. Our values and our aspirations remade the world in 1776 and continue to do so. The entire globe is better for it. I'm proud to wear my nation's uniform and be a small part of its legacy.

I don't care about your purpose our partisan loyalties. You cannot protest on active duty in uniform. Doing so is poison to an important foundation of our nation. People who do inflict exceptional harm and do so for fleeting minutes of notoriety before they are forgotten

Packers come on Tuesday for what will be my last PCS before retiring. As a military brat, it will be my 22nd move, hopefully the new address will stick for a bit as my current longest is the PO box I had as a cadet at USMA.

A few months before graduation, @petedominick.bsky.social performed at West Point. A couple friends and I talked with him after the show and he got us tickets to the Colbert Report. After warming up the crowd, he pointed us out to Stephen, who asked if we had any questions for him.

We ran a Norwegian Foot March starting at 0100 today. Route required 3 laps with one stretch 2 miles uphill. 150+ participants. Seeing a ton of tired, sweaty, sore but happy Soldiers celebrate as the sun rose will be one of my favorite moments of command.

GEN McCaffrey was kind enough to let me interview him for my forthcoming book, Imagined World Orders: Tom Clancy and US National Security. During the interview he noted there was one movie he loathed from the 90s for its casual portrayal of drug use. His wife, Jill, provided the name; Pulp Fiction.

Love #ForAllMankind (and pretty much all of Ron Moore's SciFi outings). The bonus mini-vignettes about what happens between season jumps that also explain the real historical inspiration for creative decisions are fantastic. Great mix of history and fiction!
