How many crochet stitches would a crocheted Stitch crochet if a crocheted Stitch could crochet stitches?

Ok, so I actually really liked the Snow White remake, but hear me out...

Altered version of the Snow White 2025 movie poster. Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Miss Piggy as the Queen. Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Rolf, Animal, Scooter and Skeeter as the seven dwarfs.

I like that they didn't cut the bit where Mickey bangs his nose on the door jamb.

Other than a couple of songs and one scene that I won't spoil, most everything you like about the original is in this one too. There's just more depth to the plot and the characters. This is solidly in my top 3 of all the Disney remakes. 🧵7/7

There has been lots of talk online about how this movie strays too far from the 1937 version. People are complaining that she doesn't get saved by a man, that there's no romance, etc. Those comments are being made by people who haven't seen the movie. All of those elements are still there. 🧵6/7

I appreciated seeing a Snow White with some personality and I thought Rachel Zegler did a good job walking the line between the demure and innocent girl that has (unfortunately) been the butt of jokes for almost a hundred years and a gradually more confident person with actual agency. 🧵5/7

There are also a couple of scenes in the middle that could have been more succinct. 🧵4/7

Is it perfect? No. The Dwarfs are off-putting - though I did get used to them. The "Heigh Ho" scene is a bit slapstick, Jonathan's "Princess Problems" song and the Queen's "All is Fair" song don't land (though the other new songs are good). 🧵3/7

With that in mind I went into this adaptation not really expecting much, aside from not liking the motion capture dwarfs. I was pleasantly surprised though. Most of what was added and expanded on from the "original" really worked for me. 🧵2/7

My Rotten Tomatoes review of the new Snow White movie 🧵 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎 The 1937 animated Snow White movie has always been a top favorite for me. It holds such a special place for me that it became the first movie I watched with my daughter. 🧵1/7

One of the smartest and most evil things Republicans have done is convince half the country that "entitlement" is a bad word. Social Security is something we are *quite literally* entitled to.

The dictionary definition of "entitlement".

the fact of having a right to something.
Example: "full entitlement to fees and maintenance should be offered"

So I guess Facebook's policy to stop fact checking is somewhat conditional...

Huh?
"What happened is they rigged the election and became president."

That's a particularly hard shape for me too. I've done this weird one, plus a regular one and the pink one and they're all a little off...

I also made a bread slice with peanut butter to complement the slice with jelly.

Two amigurumi (crocheted toys) of bread slices. One has a purple "jelly" face, the other has a brown "peanut butter" face.

Update: I made them but the jar of peanut butter looks more like a jar of mayonnaise so I remade it with a darker brown.

Two amigurumi (crocheted toys) of peanut butter jars with red lids and labels and smiling faces. One is made of very light tan colored yarn and the other uses darker brown yarn.

Btw, speaking of derpie dinos. One time I tried making Fred with glow-in-the-dark yarn and just completely forgot all the repeating rows in his body and he turned out like this. Now he hangs from my rear view mirror.

Glowing green crocheted dinosaur with yellow spikes. His head is 3 times bigger than his body.

Some (Most?) of the fan favorites are not based on Disney IP. Rather they BECAME Disney IP. Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, etc.

My daughter and I are at #Disneyland spending some time on Main Street. We saw 2 horse trollies, 2 surry cars, 2 omnibuses and the fire engine out and about at the same time - and rode many of them. It's terrible that DCA is losing what little of this energy it has.
