Brings me back nearly a decade ago as I was tinkering with Bose Frames twitter-archive.benetou.fr/utopiah/stat... in early 2017 during a hackathon in NYC. Is the past the future?😎 /s

Love Scratch (or ScratchJr or OctoStudio) but feel somehow limited by the existing blocks? Check out Snap snap.berkeley.edu thanks to which, with its custom block and JavaScript extension support, I was able to communicate to VR content and play with a GamePad in minutes!😍

Iterations on Lego support, the strong magnet is enough to keep it all in place even while moving.

Magnets work and are strong enough to walk around with them but it needs support below to avoid moving while typing on the outermost columns.

Stability is a concern, good way to curb that probably is a weighted cushion, here using dry peas. Quite comfy while sitting down, not sure how long it feels comfortable though and definitely unusable on the move.

current exploration : keyboard and pinch in space no keyboard and mouse, not just keyboard, not just pinch... but each other individually and their intersection and yes, it does mean spatial modal editing.

weird idea of the day : spatialize a video. no 3D reconstruction, only camera positions and the video itself plays each sequence in its estimated position, in overlapping position past sequences are pushed behind newer ones

I traveled through France via train this Summer & this is way WAY scarier when you go through. This aerial view is still abstract, actually seeing it, kilometer after kilometer through the entire country is deeply unsettling. This new normal is catastrophic. Source www.franceinfo.fr/environnemen...

What it means to daily drive Linux on a PC, namely a computer that is genuinely yours : - this morning I made a tool, including its UI, without realizing it. The console has a background tab to download using a CLI tool (yt-dlp) & the visual interface is using watch to check a file and directory.

Damn... #CrossPoint on the X3 is amazing. Just received this minuscule e-ink reader few hours ago, flashed firmware via microSD and voila, WebDAV file server to add content, HTTP interface to do so the same and configure settings. Great on-boarding, it just works! Another freed gadget 🚀 🔓

The idea : people looking at me giving XR demo don't have to ponder what it is others are looking at inside the headset, they see on my back. It's v0.1, after reviewing it the in-VR perspective needs to be way WAY bigger.

It's not a "bug", it's a corporate feature : you are getting milked. Next time you want a "smart" or "connected" device hoping to do more, rely on open source and open hardware otherwise you WILL, always, get locked out. It's a law of the (commercial) Universe. github.com/robinostlund...

Ultimate liminal spaces. It's honestly impressive, on the surface. The visuals are gorgeous... but it's still empty. What makes a "World" a world is precisely it's coherency. It's not about how it looks but rather how it "works". nvlabs.github.io/Sana/WM/ "SANA-WM, a 2.6B open-source world model"

So true it hurts "Having to manually register new domains was something that was really holding back my ability to commit fraud." From news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4803... Again it's not about the 'potential' of the technology, it's how it's ACTUALLY being used. Today. Against us.
