He talks like he's explaining to the cops that the 1/2 kilo of cocaine in the trunk isn't his, but also was never a full kilo and they're the ones who are acting suspicious.

Right? I also don't know that I'd describe Hamas as "besieged militants". Maybe "terrorists who use an entire population as a human shield", but what do I know? 🙄

@polymega.com FYI - when I try to download the Polymega app, it gets blocked due to a suspected virus. I downloaded on a different machine and transferred it over, but Windows blocked the installation and quarantined the file.

There's a difference between expecting privacy and not wanting to live in a surveillance state where every single movement is tracked, or to be wrongfully accused of something because facial recognition is unreliable at best.

First I'm hearing about this one. Not sure how I feel about the trailer, but there's a free demo on Steam to check out.

They're not against an overreaching surveillance state. They just want a home-grown one.

I forgot about this. I know I watched the rented VHS as a kid. All I really remember is being freaked out by the prosthetic work on Dan Aykroyd.

Interesting. I had exported my NES collection as a test but the option to import it never became enabled in the app. Maybe I need to try again at some point and use a different drive.

Does the Import Collection option ONLY become available if a Remix is connected? We can't just copy games from our base unit over to a PC?

How long will it be until all the Persona hacks for age verification lead to a massive database of people's facial biometrics? Then people will add that to the on-phone databases for their creeper glasses and identify every single person they walk past. This needs to be stopped.

And how exactly does pushing some idiotic age verification bill, which would require EVERYBODY giving an ID and biometrics to ANY company (likely Persona) actually protect people's rights instead of being an unacceptable invasion of privacy and enacting a nanny state?

Right, but an it's an unsupported claim by Miller. Kind of like Brigitte Macron suing Candace Owens or Imane Khelif (Olympic boxer) suing Elon. There's no evidence to make the claim in the first place. The defendant would have to defend their claim.

Bender J Fry @benderjfry.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
No one's saying there's anything wrong with being trans. Miller is deliberately and knowingly misrepresenting him in a way that, presumably, a lot of Texas is opposed to. That's being done with malicious intent on his part, which is necessary for a defamation case involving a public figure.

"But the warning is critical. The indefinite delay, theoretical though it may be, is not a good idea. Users should be given a deadline..." No. Users should have control over their own devices. There's a reason I kept hardware features turned off to stay incompatible with Windows 11.

It's pretty easy to see how an administration like the current one would gladly put any woman seeking mifepristone onto one of their watch lists. Your "think of the children" rhetoric rings incredibly hollow when your "solution" puts every single person at risk.
000
Bender J Fry @benderjfry.bsky.social · 15/05/2026
That's until women (and everyone) are tracked online because you think the best thing is to force EVERYONE to give their private data and biometrics over to Persona so Persona can run 269 different checks for "age verification". This includes credit checks and watchlist checks.

By forcing every adult to give up private information, such as IDs and biometrics just to us a phone or computer? Giving data to companies like Peter Thiel backed Persona? The company that exposes private data and hoards it to train their AI? All so you can destroy privacy and anonymity online?

Says the guy championing a law that would force people to give their private data to Persona just to use their own phone or computer. A move so technologically illiterate that it will inevitably destroy digital privacy and anonymity, opening the door to tracking everyone.

Instead of focusing on gun violence, politicians want to destroy digital privacy and force everyone to verify their identity online so we can pretend little kids won't see naughty pictures online. They need to be told to refocus on what is the real, urgent threat. #ParentsDecideAct #HR8250

True, and I don't want to make slippery slope arguments, but I also don't trust them to say they're not normalizing a "less invasive" method so they can add new requirements later after enough 13 year olds claim to be 50. Once Persona and IDs get involved, it's game over for data privacy.
