Alright @idolismj.yase.world, I've been seen all of these awesome baby YouTube thumbnails you're reposting and it finally broke me (as much as I suck at image manipulation software).
A sensational YouTube clickbait thumbnail of a baby. "Are cloth diapers really environmentally friendly? The truth will shock you."

Day 29 - Most anticipated game I know it’s out on Steam and Switch, but I’m waiting for the PS5 release of Hades 2 and I can’t wait to play it.

Day 27 - Favorite series exclusive species I’ve always enjoyed the Zora, and the Zora Domain is always a sight to behold and has a cool vibe.

Day 26 - Favorite Series Tough call but this is probably Resident Evil, the series that introduced me to survival horror. IIRC it was responsible at least in part of coining survival horror as a genre. Btw if you are a fan of the series and haven’t read it “Itchy, Tasty” by Alex Aniel is great.

Day 25 - Favorite supporting or side character Dollman from Death Stranding 2 was an excellent example of how to do a great, not-annoying support / sidekick character.

Day 24 - Best OST Wattam takes this one for me. It’s beautiful and whimsical and is an integral part of the core game experience. Runners up: Chicory and Doom 2016

Day 23 - First pre-order My first pre-order was Ocarina of Time. I wish I still had that gold cartridge, but my dumb teenage ass traded it in eventually.

Day 21 - Best character customization This one has got to be Elden Ring. You can make so many different characters and get a completely different experience from each one (love my faith build).

Day 20 - Easiest final boss fight There are a few good options but I’m going with Mario 3’s Bowser. It’s kind of the opposite of my observation about Infinite Wealth earlier. Leading up to Bowser was challenging: the koopa kids and that epic last world. Then Bowser just defeats himself.

Day 19 - Favorite game mechanic Shadow Hearts was an excellent RPG from the PS2 era and it had a cool mechanic called the judgement ring, which added some challenge to the turn based combat. I’ve always liked that mechanic and wished that someone would do it again.

Day 17 - Favorite cinematic Death Stranding 2’s cinematic where we see Tomorrow in action for the first time was both completely unexpected and it blew me away. It was so cool - so that’s my choice here.

Day 16 - Best plot twist Bioshock probably has the most draw dropping plot twist for me, even though more recent games have struck me (Death Stranding 2). This game is one of the greats. The mechanics, the ethical choices, the environment, the story telling - and on top of that the plot twist.
“Would you kindly” written on a wall with notes and pictures posted all over it.

Day 13 - Best voice acting The Last of Us. Troy Baker’s performance as Joel is excellent, and overall the voice acting creates all the right emotions. Others: Soul Reaver & Metal Gear Solid. Specifically MGS opened me to the art of VA & some of the actors are my faves to this day.

Day 12 - Most annoying character This is tough because I can’t think of many that I find extremely annoying, but I’m going to go with Luigi since I need to choose. I’ve never really liked him since Mario 2 and his personality in the latter games such as Luigi’s Mansion is pretty annoying to me.

Day 11 - Comfort Game Mario 64. I can pick this game up and play it any time, and sometimes will just turn it on and run around and hit one of my favorite levels if I just want to relax but don’t know what game to play.

Day 10 - Underrated Game Gravity Rush (and its sequel) deserved more attention. Its mechanics were interesting, the story was fun, and neat quirky characters. Overall has a very anime vibe.

Day 9 - Favorite Antagonist This one is Higgs from Death Stranding. He’s a threat throughout both games, he’s got one of the best voice actors, and has an interesting story and unpredictable behavior. Excellent character. Runners-up: Ganon, Dracula (Castlevania), and Sephiroth.

Day 8 - Favorite Protagonist Samus Aran. There are other contenders: Solid Snake, Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Sam Porter Bridges, but Samus has captured me since the very first Metroid game. The first badass protagonist I played and remains a badass through every entry.

Day 7 - Favorite multiplayer or mmo This is a tough one. Thinking back through the years the highlights are Phantasy Star Online, GoldenEye, Gears of War, Resident Evil 5 (if co-op counts), but Left 4 Dead 2 stands out to me as the most fun I’ve had in multi player.

Day 6 - Best world building Bioshock pulled me into its world like no other game. The eerie setting starts off extremely uncomfortable but as time goes on I got attached to the setting. It’s one of those games you are sad to finish because you miss exploring Rapture.

Day 5 - Game that deserves a remake Vigilante 8 was always my favorite of the vehicular combat games, and I’ve always thought it would be cool with all of the capabilities of modern systems if the proper effort was put into it.

Day 4 - Currently playing The last month or so I haven’t had much time for games, but when I do I’ve been focusing on Demonschool. It’s an excellent game and the story-telling and combat are perfect for intentionally slowing down and enjoying a game for relaxation.

Day 3 - Hardest boss fight Probably dumb, but I’m going with the final boss in Infinite Wealth. The whole game has a steady pace but if you aren’t the right level and jobs for the last boss, he’s impossible. And I didn’t want to load an old save and grind so I bailed. Love the game though.

Day 1 - First Video Game Super Mario Bros. This was the first game I played, and I played it a ton as it was the only game a had for a while.

Yup! It’s the | operator, but you just add a tag (in the screenshot, it’s “state”). As long as the tag is in each type and is a literal value, the TS compiler is smart enough to know what keys are on the object. It goes pretty far for making the domain explicit on the FE.

Doing random game Saturday a day late. This is the limited physical release of Chicory, the coziest and best of all cozy games. It deals with weighty issues like mental health in a respectful way, and has a solid, very polished old school Zelda feel to it. This is a family favorite.

Let's spread some game love <3 Name one of your favourite games and tell peeps why you love it so much. I love Resident Evil REmake. That it was such a perfect remake. And that it had rewards for speed runs and invisible enemy runs, offering difficulty and replay value without being punishing.

Random game Saturday. Air Fortress was one of my favorites. The mechanic where you switch from space shoot em up to exploring the base in your space suit was really cool, especially for the era.

I regularly do house cleaning on my programming books, and donate the ones I prune, but my office doesn’t feel right without my favorites - some that I still actively reference and some that are just classic (Robert Nystrom’s two at both ends are timeless). Here’s my current configuration.
