"Tower of Saints and Sinners" Maybe my most overtly fantasy work yet! I'd like to imagine this thing has been here for centuries, and whatever these figures are doing in there keeps the distant city safe. Everyone is wise not to ask any questions about it #art #illustration #creepy #horror #scifi

In shadow, a towering obelisk is visible center frame in the foreground. The structure has a red, glowing doorway at the base. Following the tendrils and various carvings in the side of the building up to the top, 3 skulls are placed of inhuman size. 3 figures walk towards the doorway, their faces away from the camera and lit by the door.

In the background, a hazy yellow and burnt sky envelopes the city in the distance, as if a thick haze is omnipresent (think Bladerunner 2049 Las Vegas)

Thanks so much!! Oh yeah I can totally see that! I haven’t read those comics, but it looks like something I’d be interested in so I’ll have to check them out!

Over halfway through the year, felt like sharing some of the pieces I've worked on in 2026! I have several half finished paintings sitting around on my iPad, they'll live eventually Excited to feel that fall is slowly creeping in 🎃 #art #creepy #horror #digitalart #procreate

New piece 👏 A Being opens a window, and attempts to take an innocent look at a world unfamiliar to It, contorting our reality in the process #art #horror #DigitalPainting #Procreate

A digital painting. The viewer looks up to a sunny, mostly blue sky with a few clouds, past the trees. In the sky, a door or window is open, seemingly from nowhere, leading into a black abyss. Inside the abyss, a giant creature from another world stares back. It has two cataract eyes, a hollowed nose, and facial features that stretch down like a mask. It also has a gaping mouth with many teeth. It does not appear to be paying much attention to whatever small life forms sit on planet earth, perhaps it doesn't even perceive us.

Awh thank you! I sometimes omit the “fiction” from my alt text as I’m not sure if people appreciate that as opposed to a straightforward description, but I’m thrilled you resonate with my stuff!

“3:14 AM” New digital painting! Had a ton of fun with this one, got some nice friend feedback too which feels great #art #horror #illustration

A digital painting, rendered realistically, of a scene inside a bedroom taken from the perspective of someone in bed. Its night and dark in the room, the flash is on, and at the edge of the bed stands a figure half in shadow with impossibly long arms. It descends into darkness before you see the face

#SaintMantis in my style, originally by the talented @owllog.bsky.social! Might've gone a little overboard with the artistic liberties here but was enjoying this creature a TON! #art #illustration

A digital painting of a mantis-esque person rendered in a realistic concept art style. The mantis person has one arm, with the ending "claw" containing a few fingers. Shoulder blades and pelvic bones protrude out, pushing the skin. The eyes are completely sunken in with only small highlights for pupils, and behind a head sits a renaissance style halo. It's mouth is agape with sharp, uneven teeth and a small nose.

Hi #PortfolioDay - I'm Ben 👋 Freelance illustrator & full time product development lead Focusing on digital painting ghosts and eerie interiors, but sometimes ink in black and white. I have only a couple of spots open, but don't hesitate to reach out with your ideas! 🖥️ benblissart.com #art

A digital painting, rendered realistically, of a woman in a black dress, half cropped by the frame, standing on a chair. Only her hand is visible skin. She stands in front of a dark window, and folksy household objects are scattered about. It’s unclear what the woman is doing

A POV shot painting looking into the next room through a large opening space. There is a fireplace, a painting above it, and some decoration on the fireplace. In the center of the room, in front of a deep red wall is a figure moving across the floor. The figure is semi transparent, blurry, and their face is wrong. You don't remember taking this picture

Illustration of a man sitting and smiling into the camera. Lighting is as if a photo was taken with the flash on. There are random assortments of chips, plates, and other various items on the table in front of him. The room is cool and blue. Behind him, a pair of legs dangle from the ceiling, going unnoticed

A realistically rendered digital painting. The viewer is looking out a closed door from within a building. Through the windows, all is black in the night aside from an uncomfortably shaped face in the left window pane. The face is mostly visible, but looks incorrect, and the eyes are sunken in

New digital painting! Lots of texture in this one. Took forever and I could probably work on it forever more, but there’s some more exciting work I wanna start on #art #illustration #horror #painting

A digital painting rendered realistically of some sort of in progress or abandoned room. The room is not fully constructed, with visible beams and flooring pieces. There are planks of bare wood and boxes and an old AC unit under a brightly lit window. The right half of the painting is a warm and bright area lit hy the window, the left half is dimly lit and shaded behind a corner wall. In the darkness, an uninteligable figure sits with it’s hands on it’s knees, partially obscured by a beam in the foreground.

Genuinely this looks fantastic! Great study! Customizing the preexisting brushes helps a lot. If you otherwise enjoy a brush aside from a few things, the settings section is expansive, so you might be able to hone in on something way better.

“Unease” There’s something disturbing to me about quiet, interior spaces like this. I focus on them more as a painting challenge, but there’s more to it that’s super interesting to me. I could’ve explored that a bit further, but I liked this one as is! #art #illustration #painting #creepy

Chunky lad in the jungle, soaking up the rays for the rest of us #illustration #art #pen #ink #drawing #relax

A weird little baby thing lays on the ground in the jungle, surrounded by plants, a lemur tail, and butterflies. He basks in the sunlight, contently.

Finally a new piece! Originally this was going to be quite different, with multiple figures, but it felt way too distracting, so I focused in on the doctor and “patient” #art #horror #illustration #painting

A doctor looking forlorn into the camera as he performs surgery on a covered patient. The patient is a sickly green pale with tubes emanating from its abdomen. Only the stomach is uncovered by sheets, with a slice made in the stomach. The background is a void of vague darkness and implied medical equipment.
