Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 09/12/2024Great chat with @laurahallain.bsky.social today around the inspirations of Maya and Marley: The Great Big Tidy Up! So many layers to book that I hadn't fully appreciated before. As always, a great conversation and looking forward to being able to share the podcast next year. 111
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 21/11/2024Story time (including poetry at times) was one of the best times of the day with my class. We would choose some great chapter books and they were all hooked and wanting to carry on. It's the power of books! 041
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 21/11/2024As my little boy was very tired this evening, we were just chilling and chatting and we started to come up with stories. We then asked Google Gemini if it could help us with a story and it did such a great job at giving us story starters, all through conversation with it. Really impressed. 000
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 20/11/2024I found setting app time limits helped me break the habit of looking for the sake of looking. Having listened to Atomic Habits: Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results by James Clear, it made me appreciate setting smaller achievable targets to ensure my habits changed. 121
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 14/11/2024When I dropped my little boy off at nursery this morning, his eyes lit up when he saw they had the tray of dinosaurs out! Always a winner in his eyes. 020
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 13/11/2024Imagine 300 brand new nurseries bursting onto the scene by next September! The ambitious plan could be a game-changer for children. But is it the right move? The idea promises brighter futures, but it's important to consider existing childcare providers too. tapestry.info/school-based...tapestry.infoSchool-based nurseries - our reflections on their rollout | TapestryThis article explores the benefits of school-based nurseries such as early curriculum building, inclusive SEND support, and family engagement. 000

Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 15/08/2024Thank you for the reply. That's what I'm thinking too, and feels more appropriate too as there could be so many different ways that a pupil is demonstrating the skills you are assessing, and they probably won't all be in one place. 010
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 15/08/2024Hi, former primary teacher, now working as an advisor with schools and teachers around the world, with my work at Tapestry. #eduSky 020
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 12/08/2024I'm hopeful that the 'next generation' are better at exploring things at a deeper level than face value, thanks to their understanding of how things work. 010
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 12/08/2024There certainly is a lot for us to understand if using AI tools. My hope is that over time, the tools learn to search from a diverse pool, without needing to specify, but think we all know the chances of that happening. This is why teaching how to use and search using AI is going to be important. 110
Ben @ben.tapestry.info · 10/08/2024Would be interesting to also see how connected to these parents the educators are, to be able to say this confidently. It's a bold statement to say they don't care, whereas maybe they don't know how to support their child. So much more to unpack here as you say. 010
