We’re going to record Friday morning due to some scheduling conflicts, so still some time to get a couple questions in for the pod!

Let’s open the mailbag for the Dungeon of Doom podcast heading into another primetime road game. Lions are 2-1. Moved some stuff around, larger roles for new faces, Goff and Gibbs balling, etc. Drop questions here or at dungeonofdoom@mlive.com

Rakestraw is "going to get some more ops" that was promising, per Lions HC Dan Campbell.

Jamo defending Gibbs after he took a shot flying into the end zone and then emoting in the complaining players' face was an amazing little moment probably not seen on the broadcast. Lions back up 31-24 late

Skyler Gill-Howard at TE on that Gibbs TD to open fourth quarter. Hell yeah, fun is back.

Pretty sick timing on the jump by Jameson Williams to put the Lions just outside of the red zone here late in the third quarter. Nice to see them connect on that look.

Roger McCreary announced as starting cornerback in pre-game intros (and by looking at pre-game warmups). No Rock Ya-Sin with starters. Izien and Clark at safety.

Alim McNeill back. Ben Bartch and Thomas Harper still not practicing on Thursday. McNeill missed Wednesday for personal reason. Bartch (foot) and Harper (ankle).

Lions sign DB Bishop Fitzgerald from Pittsburgh's practice squad, place Avonte Maddox on IR, released LB Joe Bachie, per transaction wire.

Dan Campbell doesn't expect Kerby Joseph or Brian Branch to start practicing this week. Still not much detail there. Does feel Branch is closer than Joseph. "Nothing I'm going to say is going to make anybody feel better about anything" when it comes to Joseph.

Lions lose safety Avonte Maddox for the season due to foot surgery.

Dungeon of Doom podcast has a live show coming up this Tuesday. Coming off that game for the Lions, let’s open the mailbag for questions while everyone is good and pissed off.

Lions score on first drive of second half, trailing 27-17. Neeeeeeded that.

Back-to-back defensive holding penalties inside the 10-yard line on the Lions. One negated a Gill-Howard pick off the tip. Now, Avonte Maddox is down after a collision in the end zone.

Well, this couldn't have started worse for Detroit. 14-0 Bills. Gibbs gets Lions moving a bit. Rousseau second sack on second-and-1, snap over Goff's head on third-and-11.

Bills go 85 net yards in just under 6 minutes to take 7-0 lead. Allen 2-2 for 22 yards, four runs for 40 yards. Cook had 23 yards on three carries.

Ben Raven @ben-raven.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Greg Dortch back deep to return for the Bills after spending the offseason and camp with the Lions.

Ben Raven @ben-raven.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

D.J. Reed is active Lions inactives: CB Keith Abney II, CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr., DL Ahmed Hassanein, OT Blake Miller, OG Christian Mahogany, LB Jimmy Rolder, DL Mekhi Wingo

3241

Ben Raven @ben-raven.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Blake Miller and Christian Mahogany are out for the Lions in Week 2. CB D.J. Reed is questionable. Bartch LG. Would guess Borom at RT.

Finally had my “fire up” moment with Tyler Conklin today in the locker room Knew the CMU 1974 national champs shirt would get him. Fire up indeed

"It's going to be a while. Significant amount of time" before the Lions get Isiah Pacheco back, if they do. Needed surgery. Missed a lot of camp with MCL injury, then a back injury kept him off the field to end camp.

1121

Ben Raven @ben-raven.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Dan Campbell didn't have much clarity on Blake Miller, saying he has a better chance than Mahogany on Thursday. They'll know more tomorrow, as the day after the game is always tricky ahead of short week. (estimated practice report below)
