Today I finished the first of my scrappy quilts. Showed hubby, him, “ Is that for me? Me, “why yes’, I replied, it wasn’t meant to be his, I know he will want the second one, that I just need to quilt and bind. Made completely from scraps from my scrap box, and some fabric in my stash.

My lap quilt I made completely out of scraps.

Oh, the irony of a politician in Tasmania saying, 'A need to take care of taxpayer dollar, government says'....I don't think I have ever seen this scale of fiscal irresponsibility and massive stuff ups by a Tasmanian govt. I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong!

Today we went for a drive to Toodyay, much less crowded in the middle of the week. I visited the Christmas shop, I don’t think I could ever visit with little kids, you’d never get out!

Today’s lunch, home made steak sandwich, thinly sliced steak from the butcher’s, lettuce (stand down, I am from Australia, we can eat lettuce without fear)! Beetroot, tomato and fried onion, sauce is a little bit of relish, with some kewpie mayonnaise. No more bought steak sandwiches for us. Yum.

We hear on the radio and tv, the resource sector (BHP, RIO, Alcoa et al) with their propaganda ads, how wonderful they are for the community and what great things they are doing in said community. I would be a lot happier, if they also let us know what govt subsidies they receive!

On this date 49 yrs ago, we rocked up to the courthouse, and got married. In celebration we are having curried sausages for lunch followed by watching the footy (on tv). Not even going outside today. The weather where we live is diabolical today.

Interest rates - just reading an article about the rejoicing if interest rates are cut, people will want to borrow more money to get a better house. If you have learnt nothing from this experience of interest rates going up, creating mortgage stress, you shouldn't be then bleating how hard it is.
