Cody Wilson @belthesar.com · 02/09/2026After one of LastPass' shenanigans, I went to self hosting a Vaultwarden instance. It's been pretty solid for the family. If you're up to self-hosting things, I've found it to be a very solid and well supported project, and you get all the benefits of the Bitwarden frontends. 110
Cody Wilson @belthesar.com · 28/08/2026I did have my old MIDI Fighter 3D wired up against a Raspberry Pi to use as a controller for other things, and it worked without any additional work, so I think you're probably okay. I imagine any work you have to do is all controller mapping. 010
Cody Wilson @belthesar.com · 28/08/2026I haven't had a working MIDI controller for a bit, so no practical experience to really go off of. That said, so long as the MIDI in isn't esoteric (IE: not USB -> MIDI devices like a keyboard, or reasonably modern audio interface with MIDI in), Pipewire should pick them up fine. 110
Cody Wilson @belthesar.com · 28/08/2026I've had mixed success with yabridge (yabridge.org). Cody Wilson @belthesar.com · 14/08/2026I have a lot of empathy for the PBS affiliate here. Stations are woefully underfunded, even moreso now thanks to the loss of federal funding. They likely made a choice driven by cost as much as it was a lack of on-hand talent. 020

Cody Wilson @belthesar.com · 09/07/2026I saw some posts of folks adding heatsinks to the SFP cages + adding additional fans to their CRS309s to be able to keep the adapters within temp tolerances. I elected not to do that mod until having 10 GbE was a necessity, and even then that might get deferred to a switch with 10 GbE built in. 310
Cody Wilson @belthesar.com · 09/07/2026I recently picked up a CRS309 to replace my 10G TP-Link core switch at home. Based on my pre-purchase research, I think your suspicion that the 10 GbE SFP+ adapters being the culprit is spot on. The Mikrotik forums have tales of others' woe when using 10 GbE adapters in it. 100
