Sure he’s not always 2nd in command but he is often a high ranking decepticon TFA kinda nailed it on the head when they split his personalities into each of his clones and I think that each interpretation of Starscream just has differing levels of those traits I do agree that he’s an archetype

I think Starscream as a character is defined by his position as 2nd in command and his ambition to be in charge and that’s enough of a through line that connects all his iterations. Yes the specifics vary but compared to other characters I feel like he’s more consistent
