Finally watching She-Hulk....this is what everyone was complaining about? I thought it was a pretty fun show with a great premise and fun guest stars showing up here and there. But I can see how CERTAIN people would react to the on-the-nose feminist writing. Can we pretend Skaar never happened tho?

Seems fitting I would watch Werewolf By Night since it's October. Mostly short, sweet and to the point. It's WAY gorier than I expected for the MCU (at TV-14 at that!) with some fun homages to old school horror. I honestly think this could have been a movie itself; I was left wanting a bit more.

This isn't TECHNICALLY MCU but hey why not? I love me some Nic Cage and I think he delivers a fun performance as usual. Watching in black and white it definitely evoked that old noir feel, with fun villains and good atmosphere. Would have been nice to have more, but the season wraps up well enough.

Just saw Forgotten Island. I thought it was a pretty hyperactive feast for the eyes with a good bit of heart near the end. Two weird gals going on one hell of an adventure with cool mythology stuff I'm not super familiar with. Bit TOO fast paced and EXTRA at points but still a good time.

Wasn't sure if I was going to like Agatha All Along but it was a lot of fun! Creepy, campy and very, very gay. Great sets and performances overall with clever foreshadowing too! Excited for VisonQuest to close out the trilogy.

Like Wakanda Forever, a lot of this movie is hard to watch. While absurd with amazing visual spectacle and typical Gunn humor, Rocket's past is so disturbing with some real bittersweet partings in the end. I loved this ragtag found family, and I'm glad Gunn was able to finish off the trilogy.

OK this was just a fun time in general. Super absurd premise but it still has an emotional core. Glad that Mantis got more to do, and this seems like a good way to ease myself into Guardians 3. I guess all actors aren't complete pieces of shit after all. Merry Christmas.

Eternals is a strange film. While it has some good visuals and action bits, the scope of its sudden lore after 10 years of MCU stuff makes it hard to fit into things. The huge cast makes it hard to flesh everyone out and ultimately it ends with big sequel hooks that might never get resolved. Meh/10.

Contrasting the last movie, here's the most depressing MCU movie. I don't think there's a "right" answer to killing off or recasting T'Challa, but regardless, Wakanda Forever is a very powerful movie about grief and the horrors of colonialism. Great movie, but I never want to watch it again.

Closing out the TVA saga of sorts with Deadpool & Wolverine. It's mostly a "I clapped when I saw it!" kind of movie but it was still mostly a fun time. It feels like a grand farewell to the Fox era X-Men and non-MCU Marvel stuff...you know, until Doomsday when we say goodbye to the old X-Men again.

Got back around to finishing Loki season 2. I liked it better than the first season and I think it ends well enough. Loki earns his glorious purpose at last, and it had a more interesting plotline. O.B and Timely are good new characters to shake things up. Shame uh...we'll never see Kang again tho.

I've been picking away at the DQ III remake for a while and I am so split on this game. Presentation is great, and keeping in mind how influential and ambitious the original was and what it did for RPGs there's a lot to like there. But I just hated so many design decisions that drained away the fun.

Quantumania was one of those infamous movies I heard was terrible but...I thought it wasn't that bad? Sure, there's dodgy CGI everywhere and Kang being beaten by ants is lame as hell, but there was still some cool vistas here and good performances. Deleting MODOK would make this like 50% better.

All I knew about The Marvels is that it bombed. Bit of a shame, since there's good character interactions here and action was creative. Some VERY bizarre scenes that were funny in how absurd they went. But the whole thing feels a bit rushed, and the villain is also pretty meh. Not bad, just "fine."

I've been dreading Secret Invasion and uh...yeah it's weird. Nick Fury is washed, beloved characters are killed off or kinda ruined for no reason, and a DBZ battle is inserted at the end of a spy thriller for some reason. A premise this good should not have come out this dull. Also ew AI intro.

The Ms. Marvel show was a fun, uneven dip into a culture I don't know much about. I think Iman Vellani embodies Kamala pretty well here and the show is very sweet overall. It's good to see more cultures represented in stories like this. Not a fan of the power switch though and villains are weak.

Next up was Thor: Love and Thunder. Yeah that was...pretty bad. They learned the wrong lessons from Ragnarok. Way too much "comedy" that undercuts any serious moments in the movie. I'm gonna say it, why bring back Jane Foster just to one-and-done it like that? Probably the worst Thor thing now. Ugh.

Finished off Neon White after chipping away at it for a bit. I'm not normally a speedrunner but this game is both designed around it and also made it pretty fun. Very fast, fluid levels you learn to zip around in no time with some great music in the background. Dialogue is kinda cringe tho.

Hawkeye isn't my favorite Avenger, but this was actually a pretty compelling show. Both Clint and Kate have a lot they have to grapple with and with how things escalate I was pleasantly surprised. Hope to see more of Kate eventually.

Onto Falcon and Bucky. Victim of COVID rewrites and centrist politics (with a pretty weak speech from Sam at the end) but the show still has some strong character moments and ALMOST raises some interesting questions. Shame Disney will never let them go all the way with it.

Continuing the whole multiverse stuff with Loki season 1. I...didn't like this as much. Seeing Loki having to learn how to be better AGAIN was a bit much, and pacing dragged at points. Doesn't help this is mostly setting up Kang and even I know that goes nowhere. Curious how I'll like season 2.

Speaking of Wanda, watching the second Dr. Strange was weird. Raimi not in the know about WandaVision explains the big leap in her character, but it's still a fun watch and feels like a true campy horror movie at times. Fun cameos, but feels like we needed a Dr. Strange movie before this.

Ended up watching all of WandaVision in one sitting: I can see why it's considered the best of the Disney+ shows. A great character study of Wanda and how we deal with grief with various forms of escape. It's a really interesting mystery show that's also a great love letter to sitcoms over the ages.

Going from there is Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Yeah I'm skipping ahead a lot, but I couldn't help it. It's a damn good movie that has a core theme of not suffering in silence and knowing when to ask for help. Great action choreography and cinematography. Probably the best Tom Spider-Man movie.

First up was Spider-Man: No Way Home. While undoubtedly fueled by a lot of nostalgia, I think this is a pretty solid film that carries Tom's Spidey forward with some heavy moments. More Willem Dafoe Green Goblin is always welcome too. Some rough compositing here or there but otherwise pretty good!

Been picking away at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor over the past week or two and hit credits. Overall a pretty solid adventure, but uh...as time went on I kept running into a LOT of technical issues, big and small. I'm also about done with jank hitboxes and enemies with uninterruptable, homing attacks.
