The Bliss Brewery has that exact some problem as other breweries that have sunk lots of money into the location and the building, but have forgotten about the actual thing they were built for - the beer. If you're going to be a wedding venue though, I guess all you need to do is have alcohol.

The Bliss Brewery (Sakuragicho / Kanagawa)
The Bliss Brewery : The Bottom Line The Bliss Brewery has that exact some problem as other breweries that have sunk lots of money into the location and the building, but have forgotten about the actual thing they were built for - the beer. It's a shame because the location and building are both really good, but the beers, well, weren't worth the price of admission, though when you're main business is weddings, then all you need to do is get people drunk.

Kida Liquor Store : Background Kida Liquor Store has a history dating back to around the early 18th century with the actual year being in 1702 (Genroku 15). Abashiri Golden Ale is a simple enough beer that, while it won't blow your socks off, is a surprisingly good effort that goes to show one bad beer does not make a bad brewery. Brewed with locally grown wheat, alongside some imported Citra and Simcoe hops, it's a solid effort that isn't blue.

Hakuraku Mokki : The Bottom Line I came to Hakuraku Mokki for the beer - yet I ended up enjoying the food so much more, and there's very few places that make me say that. A simple MO : Pay for two hours, and you'll end up a very squiffy person. And at the Caghiya Taproom, it's no different, except somehow, this is actually my favourite out of the few that I've been to. It's local, family friendly, chilled out atmosphere is welcoming to all.
beertengoku.com
Caghiya Taproom (Musashi-Nakahara / Kanagawa)
Caghiya Taproom : The Bottom Line I've been to a few places from Caghiya now, and none of them come as any surprise anymore - one of the cheapest nomihodais (all-you-can-drink plans) for beers that are ok, but not mind-blowing, with some decent food available for a reasonable price. Source of Styles #26: Sweet Stout
Welcome to the 26th edition of “Source of Styles” - the Sweet Stout. Sweet stout is a style of stout beer distinguished by the addition of lactose (“milk sugar”) which is not fermentable by typical brewer’s yeast. Because the yeast cannot convert lactose to alcohol, it leaves residual sweetness, body, and a creamy mouthfeel in the finished beer. The style also goes by names like sweet stout or cream stout.

This was once a labour of love yet time passed by and I didn't have time to update it. This summer, I've decided to go through all of it - finding new places, finding places that have moved, and removing places that have closed down. beertengoku.com/craft-beer-m...

Echigo Hazy IPA to Enrich Your Heart is a Hazy IPA-lite - one for those looking to get into the style, not for people looking for something bold and flavourful. It's cheap enough to warrant a purchase if you do come across it though.

Echigo Hazy IPA to Enrich Your Heart
Echigo Hazy IPA to Enrich Your Heart : Background Echigo Hazy IPA to Enrich Your Heart is a 6% hazy IPA from Echigo Beer, based in Yuzawa, Niigata. It's part of their canned lineup, and was first released on 17th April 2026. And that's all the information that I could find out about it as Echigo Beer haven't released any further information about it.

We're heading over to Sasazuka for Pintology - already been here four times since the original review was written, that's how much I love this place. Cold beer, good atmosphere, and they allow dogs! What's not to like about this place?

Pintology Craft Beer & Whisky (Sasazuka / Tokyo)
Pintology Craft Beer & Whisky : The Bottom Line I think it's safe to say that I've enjoyed my visits to Pintology so much so that whenever I'm in the area, I always pop in for a beer or two. Every time I've found something I want to drink on tap, and with a warm and friendly atmosphere, I feel welcome and relaxed.
