Reminds us of a time we saw a Festbier on the board, listed incorrectly by the account as an Oktoberfest. We contacted the brewery directly, which confirmed it was a Festbier and incorrectly listed. It was golden, like it should be, and not amber like a Marzen typically would be.

Agreed. Not enough research on our end, but it would be curious to see how many yeast labs there were in 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and recently. Might lean into something.

Lagers are generally 'dry hopped' (or fresh hopped?) with fresh hops, as they are usually a couple to several weeks into fermentation. Any FH lagers, released in (say) October might be end-to-end brewed with FH. Also, "cold-side or cold side" is becoming more popular due to less cellar management.

The Northwest Beer Guide @beers.bsky.social · 08/09/2026
Love the analysis. Was thinking cold-side, until you mentioned that in the breakdown. As one us, in the past, has judged FH beers, blind, Myrcene is something that is sought out. A worth-while read.

It's amazing how often we get emails about equipment auctions or turnkey breweries for sale. By comparison, we fall back to places like (in our area) Storm Brewing (Vancouver, BC) that built most of it from scratch. Now that's brewing. Glad you're pondering you v. Untappd critics. LOL.
