the last and final book of the Alina series, published by Second Story Press, is out now! here's the cover. I drew so many (3) giraffes for this book I've never drawn this many giraffes in my life actually.

illustrated cover of "Alina in Her Roots" features the titular character Alina making her way through a crowded Nairobi as she visits for the first time. There are illustrated depictions of the Nairobi streets, like jacaranda tree flowers and a matatu van. The colours are vibrant.

new zine! "I Love You Bestco" is a zine about the rituals of going to a chinese grocery store to get yourself a treat or two. this zine is special because it's my first collaborative scene with my beloved bestie Cleopatria Peterson :)

Book cover for Alina in Her Roots by Shenaaz G Nanji, ill. by Beena Mistry, Second Story Press: Book 3 of The Alina Books, a fun series for ages 6-8! Alina has grown up on the stories her family tells of Nairobi, Kenya, and now she’s going to see it all for herself! The street markets, the yummy food, and best of all, she gets to visit her cousin Safi. This summer, instead of the bulls at the Calgary Stampede, Alina is going to get up close and personal with a giraffe! When Alina arrives in Nairobi, she finds it busy and loud. It’s not how she imagined, and she feels out of place. Will her adventures with Safi help her connect to her Kenyan roots? https://secondstorypress.ca/products/alina-in-her-roots

hi bsky friends! I'm interested in knowing how many of you are using this platform more than instagram. I'm asking because I've had a food journal twitter account that I want to move onto a different platform now that so many people have left.

pages from my 2023 zine "two springs", a journal perzine that documents my life from spring 2022 to spring 2023, using photos I took with three different disposable cameras. the zine uses different photos that I’ve collaged, overlaid with hand written text and illustrations

front cover of "two springs" overlaid on a cobalt blue background. the cover depicts an upside down shot of fall coloured trees and a small windmill. the title, "two springs" is hand drawn in white

a horizontal spread of two geese overlooking a body of water. on the right side is a collage of another image of pink flowers. a setlist of black metal songs is handwritten across the spread
