We are coming even more perilously close to seeing the US transforming into Gilead. I know The Handmaid's Tale comparisons have been used so many times before throughout Trump's administrations, but this "livestream death entertainment" is so close to Atwood's "The Wall" it's more than troubling.

I don't want people to die off! Not all boomers are like that. You are a lovely case in point! My parents are lovely, tolerant people too who would be shocked at what this lady posted, they know her as well. Populist politics is a rancid curse on our world at present.

One of the loveliest, kindest elderly ladies in my street Whatsapp group has just sent a massively racist video to the group (it begins with Andy Burnham laying out a red carpet by the sea, from there I shall draw a veil, I couldn't watch beyond a minute) & now my world is upside down. I'm in shock.
