Beeflings, thank you for all of your donations and sharing. The bunny rescue in Calgary, AB, Canada still needs our help as the landlord is selling the building the rescue is based in. Please help by sharing, donating, or both! Thank you friends:)

Beeflings!!! You have made a difference in this rescue’s life. They went from £57 to £4,815.27!!! What a beautiful thing for the bunny community to come together. Cosmo can get his eye surgery AND they can do some planning for the future! Fantastic job!!!

Hello friends. Another bunny rescue is in need of help. Estuary Small Animal Rescue needs to raise £700 for Cosmo the bunny’s eye surgery. Please donate if you are able! www.paypal.me/estuarysar

I honestly don't know what else to do.

Cosmo's plea for help has raised £57.
£57.
His surgery is going to cost hundreds of pounds.
And I'm exhausted.
I'm exhausted from constantly trying to find ways to raise money. I'm exhausted from watching the bank balance go down while the vet bills keep coming. I'm exhausted from feeling like I'm constantly asking people for help.
And, quite honestly, I'm running out of ways to ask.
We are a small rescue. We don't have a huge team of staff.
We don't have endless fundraising income. We don't have someone sitting behind a desk organising huge campaigns.
We have a small group of volunteers who give up their own time because they care about these animals.
And yet somehow we're expected to keep finding thousands of pounds to pay for their care.
The really difficult thing is that straightforward donations rarely seem to work for us.
People will enter a raffle. They'll bid on an auction. They'll buy something if there's something in return.
But simply donating £2 because a rabbit desperately needs veterinary treatment?
That's incredibly difficult for us.
And I genuinely don't understand why.
I see other rescues asking for hundreds of pounds, sometimes repeatedly, and their supporters rally around them.
Why can't we seem to do that?
I'm not saying this to attack anyone. I'm saying it because honestly don't know what else to do.

He doesn't understand that his surgery costs money.
He just knows that his eye hurts.
And we are the people responsible for making it better.
We cannot simply say, "Sorry Cosmo, we couldn't raise enough."
That's not an option.
But neither is continually paying veterinary bills that we don't have the money for.
So this isn't another raffle.
There isn't a prize.
There isn't anything you're going to get back.
It's just a request to help a rabbit who needs us.
If you can spare E1, E2, £5 or E10, please donate.
If you can't, please share.
Because right now, £57 of over £700 isn't enough.
And if this continues, it isn't just Cosmo who will be affected.
It is every rabbit currently in our care, and every rabbit who may need us in the future.
We are doing everything we can.
But we cannot do it alone.
Please help us help Cosmo.
