I've always disliked him for that. Tony Abruzzo is well known for his DC romance work. His characters have subtle expressions and detail. Yet Lichtenstein's recreation looks so flat and vapid. Look how he somehow manages to remove all energy from Russ Heath's art from Men of War #89...

I know he's a great voice actor appearing as Ephemer in the Kingdom Hearts series, voicing Mikleo on Tales of Zestria and a bunch more. But it still gave me whiplash to find out Michael Johnston, aka Bear from Obsession, voices Peter in Fortune's Weave.

It took me until just now to realize that the reason I've been fighting red eyed blobs of darkness in Fortune's Weave is because I apparently turned off insects in the intro. And here I was thinking I was fighting embodiments of Balor's malice or something. Nope. Just censored insect creatures.

Finally read the first book of Absolute Batman. I honestly thought I'd dislike it as yet again another grim and gritty reinterpretation of a character I love (and in some way it IS), but yeah... I understand the hype now. This was really really good and a fun variant of the Bat's story.

This was harder than I expected. I feel like I left out 10 games that are just as important as those nine. Majora is my favorite game ever so it HAD to be there, but I know Fallout 3 is a weird choice as it's "the bad one" but what it did for me at the time it entered my life cannot be understated.

Yeah I ran out of characters to say Elmer Fudd worked "for obvious reasons", haha. The only ones that didn't feel fully off WERE the more humanoid ones. Like Martian Manhunter meeting Marvin the Martian. Or the Catwoman/Sylvester & Tweety because they were flat out depicted as proper animals.

To be fair to the Porky Pig one, the cover artist did not do the interiors. It wasn't GREAT but, it wasn't as uncanny freaky as THAT. I GET they were going for "comic book art" version of the characters. And while they were all WELL WRITTEN, art wise the one that worked best was Batman/Elmer Fudd.

Continuing my comic backlog catch up with Tate Brombal's Batgirl book. I love that it feels like a real successor to Cassandra Cain's original series from the early 2000's. This new series really embraces what works about the character. I'm having a blast reading it.

Watched the first episode of Lanterns tonight. Show is off to a great start and I'm very intruigued by the central mystery. Love the two leads. Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler are perfect John Stewart and Hal Jordan respectively so far. As a long time Green Lantern fan, I'm pretty happy!

The best thing is that Knightfight was about visiting worlds where he's gone and one of his Robin took over as Batman. It culminates in one where Gotham is finally safe and his whole family is happy and he's a retired grand-father. He's forced to leave it but is embolden by what can now be.

One of the worst and unintentionally hilarious comics I've ever read is "Batman: Fortunate Son", a non-canon one-shot in which Batman reveals to Robin his hatred of Rock and Punk music and how it leads to crime. I beat LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight with 100% completion and Platitnum. Absolutely loved it and will def be in my top games of the year, but Bat Family stuff is a huge bias for me so take that with a grain of salt. Game is too pricey though. Wait for a good sale and then it's worth it.
