'Britain is likely to be hit by rising inflation because of the US war with Iran, the chancellor has said, as she suggested a “rapid de-escalation” would be the best protection against a jump in energy prices.' The cost of living crisis lingers on and on. Who knew we'd never see good times again?

The move could mean a further easing of sanctions on Russian oil...which in turn could complicate efforts to punish Moscow for its war in Ukraine. Last week the US issued a temporary waiver allowing India to purchase certain Russian oil to help it cope with the loss of Middle Eastern supply.

The Palace’s statement makes clear that it is felt the couple “can no longer formally represent” the Queen... they set out their intention of carving out new “progressive” roles. I bet the Firm regret not compromising now.

'Under previous administrations, the USA was either the world’s police or the protector of democracy, fighting for freedom against tyranny..And maybe that was true some time ago but is it the reality today?' It was never true. Democracy was only defended if the results were what the USA wanted.

'NSW authorities designated the area a “major event”, giving police & the state immunity from ‘tortious acts’ that cause injury. It appears that state enforcers made full use of this immunity: the march of around 30K was kettled & pepper sprayed as well as being beaten.' This resonates with 👇

His allies hope that keeping Burnham away from Westminster. But they acknowledge the decision comes at a cost by deepening internal rifts & further eroding party discipline, and that the PM could ultimately take the blame if Labour loses the byelection, eroding his position still further.

We must get to a point where the onus is not on victims of racial abuse to 'prove' they are indeed victims. It compounds the abuse and permits the abuser to taunt their victims further. It's the equivalent to: "Who's going to believe you?" Farage should prove it's not racist to use those terms.

Bullying is intentional, repeated behavior intended to intimidate, or coerce someone perceived as vulnerable. It involves a misuse of power The bully often has a real or perceived power over the victim, whether through social status or other means. Surrendering to bullies only makes them bolder.
