I just received an ad for a new 10-CD Merzbow release and thought--and said aloud--God help us. I'm sorry, but it's true. #Music

It's #LibraryCardSignUpMonth, and we love seeing the unique cards that many libraries offer. Special-edition library cards are more than just credentials. Whether they feature famous figures or commemorate culture and history, they’re something to flaunt. Check out a few: bit.ly/46eHeN4

I really enjoyed it, and learned some things. Win/Win. And indeed, R.I.P. to them both.

Just the right mix of "scholarly lens" and focused interviewing of the protagonists (when all four were still with us).

In the House & On the (New) Deck: 'Renascent' by The Durutti Column (@roughtraderecords.bsky.social, 2026). It's magnificent--as is the new deck, btw. TEAC TN-55B w a blue Ortofon cartridge. My first new deck in 37 years, and only my 3rd as an adult. First two: Thorens TD-160 & Ariston Q.

New LP by The Durutti Column, Renascent. In split blue/green vinyl.

The Thomas Ligotti / Current 93 collab., 'I Have a Special Plan for This World' (Durtro, 2000), is genuinely disturbing. Just sayin' ...

Spent all morning tidying up the house after the painters and listening to 'I Am the Last of All the Field That Fell' by Current 93 (The Spheres, 2014). Tibet's incantatory powers are on full display on that particular release. #Incredible #Music

#BOOKS Finished the novella 'Killing Stella' (@NewDirections, 2025) by Marlen Haushofer. Described by its publisher as "a domestic horror story," this interior monologue by one member of a very dysfunctional family is muted and oblique, and, well, disturbing. #READING

#Books Finished 'Cities of the Plain' (@aaknopf.bsky.social, 1998), the final volume in the Border Trilogy by Cormac McCarthy. A brief line from this masterpiece: "The probability of the actual is absolute." God, the man could write. #Reading
