Someone recently commissioned me to draw Beetlejuice and Lydia as mermaids. It was such a fun idea and I had a TON of fun drawing them! Frankly anytime I get to use slime green on a piece of art I’m happy. These were drawn as companions with some possibly familiar fishy friends….

A bit of Ghibli inspired art. I’m working on my first book of collected art and revisiting some older stuff like this Kiki’s Delivery Service art! There are lots of Miyazaki themed details can you find them all?

Seems like in these dark troubling times all I want to do in my spare time is color with all the crayons in the box. I want to make bright happy things that help me keep the smallest grip on my mental health. So here is a gal with cute rainbow hair & tattoos. All the hugs and all the rainbows 🌈❤️🧡💚💙💜

I just had to get new HB and 6B pencils for my sketching set. It turns out I use 2 sketch pencils more than any other lol.

How about some Sanrio pinup goodness? It’s Kuromi and My Melody! My Melody is pink and girly and as sweet as sunshine, Kuromi is her doppelgänger a bit punky and tough. Honestly I think they represent both sides of my personality lol.

Let’s party Monster High style with Scary Sweet 16 Draculaura and Frankie! Did a little bit of my own take on these dolls, switched up the costumes slightly but the are still scary sweet!

Is it Halloween yet? I know, I know it’s months away but I’m missing the spooky season a bit, so how about I share some Halloween themed art! This gal is the literal personification of Halloween night. Maybe I’ll throw a horror movie on the TV tonight 🖤

Sushi mermaid! She’s been hanging around for a bit, I’ve been working on her slowly for a while but I think she’s finally done. She even has a little yellow fin tuna who is a sushi chef. Classy.

It must take a lot of work and a lot of hairspray to keep the bride’s hair so high! I never get tired of drawing the Bride of Frankenstein

How about a little Haunted Mansion Disney magic! It’s Constance Hatchaway in rainbow form cause rainbows are cool.

Becca Whitaker @beccawhitaker.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

Been working on a number of mermaid commissions lately and decided to use one of my false starts (the art went in another direction) to make a sushi mermaid! She’s cute and has a Hangydon tattoo so she’s also cool.

Becca Whitaker @beccawhitaker.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

Brrrrr it’s cold! So I thought I’d share some older Disney Princess sketchcards with their cute little sweaters and earmuffs. Try to stay warm out there! #snowwhite #cinderella #ariel #Tiana

A dream is a wish your heart makes… some Cinderella art I’ve been messing with in my “free time” (after working on everyone else’s cool art stuffs during the day shift). Just let my brain ooze out of my ears and went a bit nuts coloring the skirt. Turned out okay 🌈💙 special cameo from Gus and Jaq.

2153

Becca Whitaker @beccawhitaker.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

Winding down from work with more work! But this one is just for fun and I think you can tell how tired I am by how crazy Cinderella’s gown looks. Can I even call her #Cinderella anymore? Haha. My brain is seeping out of my ears and onto the page.

It’s Young-hee the giant robotic doll from Squid Game in all her “red light/ green light” horror. Someone commissioned Squid Game art from me & the project ended up going in a different direction but she was almost done so I finished her. They requested the little heart hands & it’s pretty cute.

To celebrate the new year I’ve been slowly working on this mermaid gal while catching up on commissions, Patreon stuff & other work. I planned for her to be gold, silver & red but somehow she ended up rainbow. Maybe it’s what my brain needed. Happy New year everybody I hope it’s a great one!

As a New Year treat I snuck out of my Hobbit Hole to Dear Donuts in St Charles, IL for their filled brioche donuts. They are made fresh with delicious fillings, I got Ube for today & Strawberry for tomorrow. Also got an Ube Boba tea w mango jelly for the drive home. You NEED to go.

We all celebrate the holidays in our own way. I myself have a rainbow tree full of Halloween decorations up in the living room! It’s fun and it makes me feel festive even though it’s full of Jack-o-lanterns! Life is too short, enjoy it how you see fit 💚💜

Becca Whitaker @beccawhitaker.bsky.social · 21/12/2024

Just over here having fun with Christmas and folklore. Yes it’s a Mari Lwyd pinup! If you are unfamiliar with the welsh lore of this figure you should take 5 minutes out of your day to relax and read about her, such an interesting tradition!

With all the craziness in the world I thought we could all use a little Christmas… maybe a bit early? Nah… it’s close enough so how about a Little Debbie pinup featuring her famous Christmas Tree Cakes? Threw some Nutty Buddys in there too cause those are my favorites.
