I have left pumpkins out in my backyard over the years after Halloween to try to grow pumpkins but NOT in the location where the patch grew. I’m totally shocked by the whole thing. I’ll be sad if they don’t keep coming back. Best of luck with the corn! I hope it produces for you!

Wow! Suddenly corn?? That’s amazing! My pumpkin is the same; one day, I walk outside and lo and behold there is a small bunch of pumpkin leaves and flowers! Time goes on, it is spreading all over. One day about 3 weeks ago, I see this medium size pumpkin! It and the patch continue to grow!
