Well, it had to happen. There's going to be a Special Edition of The Boys of Dungeon Lane released. The surprising thing is that the announcement comes on the very day that The Beatles' Rubber Soul SDE hits the shops! So far this looks to be a store exclusive, available only through McCartney's official sites (UK and USA), plus Universal online store outlets like…

Rhino/Parlophone have announced the re-issue of three long-out-of-print George Martin & His Orchestra titles. Off The Beatle Track was the first in a series of orchestral releases by George Martin and the first ever release under his own name. Originally released in 1964 at the height of Beatlemania, it was supported by the band and has liner notes written by…

There's an out-of-reach-for-most-of-us Deluxe Edition coming on 26 October: It is a cloth-bound book that comes in a clamshell box and has four fine art prints, a 5x7" letterpress print signed and numbered by Olivia Harrison, and a vinyl single with a previously unreleased George track of him covering a 1950's Eartha Kitt song called 'Apres Moi':

This past week saw the 60th anniversary of The Beatles' Revolver celebrated - and a post by bobzilla on reddit titled "Today is the day I get to show off my Revolver collection" immediately got our attention: "I have somewhere in the vicinity of 400 copies and I'm not done yet. I have at least one mono and one stereo copy from every country that has released it.

After a solid start - way back in 2016 - the Yoko Ono reissue program came to an abrupt halt in 2019. It's now been 7 years since we've had anything. Back then the promise was 11 albums in all. They were to be reissued on LP, on CD and, for the first time, as digital downloads. The plan back then was to do this in three distinct groups:

Yesterday's boo boo by Amazon France gave us much of the detail of what the new 2026 re-issue of Rubber Soul contained - but not everything. Now that it is officially announced more is known - especially about the rarities and outtakes, which comprise 24 early session recordings, including 20 previously unreleased takes and three previously unreleased home demos - among them early versions of…

The countdown is on for the official announcement of The Beatles Rubber Soul in full super deluxe edition mode. As the official Beatles website says, "Good things come to those who Wait", with an official countdown to a full announcement tomorrow, July 30. Only thing is, they forgot to tell the French Amazon site not to publish the details ahead of time......

Just when you thought you'd seen every coloured vinyl and CD of The Boys of Dungeon Lane possible, another one quietly sneaks in....... We've updated our chart. Can you see it? It's the little Yoto player edition on the bottom row. Yoto players are designed for kids to listen to stories and music on pre-recorded digital cards that slot into the player, plus they can record their own creations onto blank cards and play them back.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of books about Beatle managers around at the moment? There are not one but three new books (out now or soon to be released) looking into what it is like to work at building the Beatle business. The first is a new release by Philip Norman called Mr. Moonlight - Brian Epstein and the Making of The Beatles…

Even on popular discussion forums (like the Steve Hoffman Music Forum - currently up to 846 pages talking about The Boys of Dungeon Lane), there are fans who doubt anyone could possibly try to collect each and every variation of the latest McCartney release. We've tried to capture all of the current variations we're aware of in this chart. Here's the latest version: …

Global Beatles Day this year seems - for the first time - to have been official taken under the wing of the Beatles' company, Apple. The official page is giving it a big push in the lead-up to 25/6/2026. The day was established back in 2009 by Faith Cohen, an American fan from Indianapolis, as a grassroots initiative through social media.

If your were wondering what direction Tom Greene, the new CEO of Apple Corps Ltd., was going to take the Beatle franchise, then wait no more. The brief official notification says it all: The first-ever official Beatles fan experience, opening in London in 2027

The Beatles' Japan Store has just announced a special 60th anniversary project commemorating the band's visit to Japan in 1966. The Beatles performed at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo from June 30 to July 2 - and created something of a sensation throughout the country. Back then the previously unreleased albums Please Please Me and With The Beatles, were issued as special commemorative editions for the visit.

It hasn't even been released yet but quite a bit of work is being done by fans to identify the source of every image seen on the brilliant collage which fills the inside of the gatefold edition (announced just last week) of Paul McCartney's new Boys of Dungeon Lane LP. There's also a cassette which includes a fold-out collage print: …

Since we posted about the new Paul McCartney solo release The Boys of Dungeon Lane there have been some developments, principally to do with new variations and vinyl colours being added. As we did for McCartney III and it's sibling McCartney III Imagined, we've started an illustrative chart showing all the known variations so far. We'll add to this if any more come down the pipeline (which, given…

No doubt you've heard by now there's to be a brand spanking new Paul McCartney solo album called The Boys of Dungeon Lane - due in stores from May 29. Very exciting to get a whole album's worth of new material from the master - especially after a five year wait. A new Paul McCartney release means inevitably there'll be lots of variations to collect.

There's definitely a bit of a rush on Beatle and Beatle-related documentaries and films at the moment. First up is John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Power to the People - live in concert. This will obviously be a brilliant companion piece to the recent documentary One To One: John & Yoko by Kevin Macdonald, a revelatory inside-look at John Lennon…

The old addage "when you're on a good thing, stick to it" comes to mind today as Ringo Starr announces the release of his second album with T Bone Burnett as producer - due out on April 24. It'll be called Long Long Road and it follows on from last year's well-received Look Up, a return to country/Americana - a style…

If I said the name Rick Ward to you, you'd probably reply, "Rick who??" Which is interesting because if you're a Beatle fan with even a half-decent collection you'll definitely have at least five or six examples of his work amongst your vinyl, CDs and DVD's. We're all aware that long-time Beatle mate, bass player and artist Klaus Voormann (along with fellow artist Alfons Kiefer) painted the fantastic cover art for the…

Whenever we venture up to the suburb of Hornsby in Sydney's north, a visit to the used record store Mix Up Music is always on the cards. As you can probably tell from image, this is not the most appealing shop from the outside, and that vibe continues continues once you're inside. It's a bit of a rabbit's warren with stock seemingly all over the place - but there is treasure to be found here if you have patience and the time to check it out.

As mentioned in December, we made some successful bids on a big Beatle and Beatle-related auction here in Sydney, Australia. The other successful bid was on an auction lot made up of quite hard-to-find, original Australian (plus one quite rare New Zealand) Dark Horse Records singles. These are all 45's you very rarely come across in the wild, so they're welcome additions to the collection.

There has been a lot of speculation about the forthcoming documentary film, Paul McCartney - Man On The Run. Would there, or wouldn't there, be an accompanying soundtrack release on physical media? Director Morgan Neville dropped a hint a few weeks ago saying yes, there would be one. But many fans figured he was simply referring to last year's…

The people at Record Store Day have just dropped the 2026 list of titles for April 18 and it contains eight titles of interest to Beatle-related collectors. First up is John Lennon - or maybe that should be Sean Ono Lennon channeling his Dad? What's coming is like a Part Two to the Mind Games Meditation Mixes, which came out back in…

When you see an iconic image like this one it is often fascinating to hear the backstory as to how it came about. Photographer Chris Floyd has a fantastic tale to tell about working with Paul McCartney and the process of capturing an image of him for the ages: If Floyd's photographs looks familiar, that's because another from that same shoot eventually made it's way (some 12 years later via…

The Beatles have released a new short film on the "making of" their Anthology song, 'Free As A Bird': A Song Reborn is directed by Oliver Murray, who did a similar thing in 2023 for 'Now And Then': Hopefully soon we'll get the Oliver Murray take on 'Real Love', with even more unseen footage?

It's been quite a while since we've seen a decent Beatle and Beatle-related auction held in our own hometown by a small auction house, but one happened about a week ago and it turned up quite a rare Paul McCartney/Fireman double LP from 1993, Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest. We've had the CD version of this for a long time, but the vinyl has always been elusive.

In late October we published a graphic titled "If You Want To Keep Up, Here's Everything You'll Need To Order" showing what we then thought was every Beatle, solo, or Beatle-related title released (or about to be released) this holiday season. It didn't last long. Some helpful readers pointed out we'd left out Ringo's Stop & Smell The Roses…

There's exclusive, and then there's extra exclusive. Denny Laine's widow Elizabeth Hines has posted to Instagram images of an even more limited edition of the new book, Wings: The Story of a Band On The Run, signed and sent to her by Paul McCartney. Screenshot The book and its contents are very similar to the limited and expensive edition reported here…

Coming on November 26. All cleaned up and looking good, plus new content too:

The Academy Award winning film War Is Over! is getting a wider release. We'll finally be able to see it in full on YouTube from 1 December. And here's the trailer: Also, to whet your appetite, here are some stills from film: It looks like it's an incredible animation with a great message and we're very much looking forward to seeing this after waiting almost two years.

There's been a further development in the green vinyl 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' 7" single release announced a few weeks back..... It all seems timed to coincide with the release of a new children's book, which in turn is adapted from the Academy Award winning animated short film of the same name that Sean Ono Lennon was involved in.......

It's been a busy time over the last few weeks and months for Beatle collectors. There's been so much product announced it's hard to keep on top of it. So, we decided to made a visual representation for you, the avid completist, so that you can keep track. If you want everything, THIS is what you'll need to order: (Click on the image to see a larger version)

As if we didn’t have enough Beatle or Beatle-related product between now and Christmas…. Now comes news that four coloured vinyl LPs from the Ringo Starr camp are due October 24. They are his first four solo releases, beginning with his solo debut Sentimental Journey, produced by George Martin and originally released in 1970, now on custom "buttermilk yellow" vinyl:

A couple of Beatle-related and Dark Horse Records titles have popped up in the Record Store Day Black Friday release list published overnight. First up is the next installment in the ongoing George Harrison/Zoetrope disc back-catalogue series, Living In The Material World: Featuring the 2024 50th anniversary mix of the album, this will come in a numbered sleeve with an insert of the original cover art.

Liveright Books has just announced a special numbered, limited edition of Wings: The Story of a Band On The Run, signed by Paul McCartney. There will be 175 copies available for the US market, and 175 copies for the UK market. These limited signed edition books are packaged in a deluxe cloth case featuring screen printing, including a 24-page full-colour bound-in booklet of…

Apple has announced it will re-issue Badfinger's Magic Christian Music on a striking blue vinyl as part of National Album Day in the UK. You might recall last year the theme was 'Great British Groups' and The Beatles A Hard Day's Night was issued on white vinyl to celebrate. Well, this year the theme is 'Rock': Magic Christian Music…

Woke up this morning to a couple of intriguing emails. First was big news from Apple. Seems they've listened to fan reaction and have decided to offer Anthology 4 as a separate purchase: By popular demand, Anthology 4 is now available as a standalone triple LP and double CD — 36 tracks including 13 previously-unreleased demos, rare sessions from 1963–69, the band’s 2023 final single 'Now and Then', and new mixes by Jeff Lynne of 'Free As a Bird' and 'Real Love'.

Announced yesterday out of the blue a new Wings "best of" compilation to accompany the forthcoming book, Wings - The Story of a Band on the Run (and possibly the new documentary film, Man On The Run): WINGS - The Definitive Collection will contain purely Wings songs (in other words no Paul McCartney solo, or Paul and Linda McCartney…

Ever wondered why the concerts, which form the centrepiece of the forthcoming John Lennon/Yoko Ono Power to the People box set, were called the One To One concerts? The BBC has just released a backgrounder as part of it's Witness History podcast series explaining it. You may need to register to listen (it's free), but it is well worth it for a very informative 9-minute listen.

It's now been announced. Here is the official press release with all the details on the Anthology Collection audio releases, the Beatles Anthology documentary series on Disney+ and The Beatles Anthology book: London – August 21, 2025 – First released three decades ago, The Beatles’ eight-part Anthology series reinvented the music documentary. Instead of a standard treatment centred on an outside narrator and talking heads, …

It looks like The Beatles Anthology TV series is destined for a Disney+ streaming release as expected: When it first aired in 1995 Anthology was a six-part series, so it looks to have been expanded somewhat given the advertising banner says it is now a nine-parter. And that it is due to go to air on November 26 with a three-part premier.

Let the speculation begin. The rumoured Beatles Anthology extension is starting to be publicised on official Beatle socials pages: And on the official website: And these images here: But what will the box contain? This image (reportedly from Amazon) shows an 8 CD set called Anthology Collection: Stay tuned for more.......

Got to admire his courage though! This was released in 1965, the year The Beatles produced the albums Help! and Rubber Soul. Plus the singles 'Ticket To Ride'/'Yes It Is', 'Yesterday'/'Act Naturally' and 'We Can Work It Out'/'Day Tripper'... Meanwhile, again in 1965, Brad put out this tune, 'God, Country and My Baby', which also sank without trace.

As he promised months ago, Sean Lennon and the Lennon Estate have this week formally announced they'll releasing (on 10 October, 2025) a mega box set focusing on John Lennon playing live in New York in the year 1972. It's called Power To The People (The Ultimate Collection) and is released in time to celebrate John Lennon’s 85th birthday.

You might know if you're a regular reader that we're quite interested in celebrating artists and creatives who sometimes go unsung, but have helped The Beatles as a band or solo to achieve their artistic vision. One such talented and long-time collaborator passed away last week. His name was Sir Brian Clarke, a British painter, architectural artist, designer and printmaker, best known for his large-scale stained glass, tapestry, ceramics and mosaic projects.

The Beatles have announced this week that the new CEO of their company, Apple Corps Ltd., will be Tom Greene. He replaces Jeff Jones, who ran the company for almost 18 years and decided to step away from the job last year. In a group statement, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison and Sean Ono Lennon joined together to say: “We are thrilled to welcome Tom Greene as CEO.

This coming Wednesday is officially Global Beatles Day. How will you be celebrating? 25 June is increasingly being recognised as a day set aside to celebrate The Beatles and their music and cultural legacy around the world. Why is GBD June 25? Well, it was on this day in 1967 that the Beatles first premiered their song 'All You Need Is Love'.

Yes it's back, but unless you were very quick you might have missed out because The Beatles In Mono 14 LP box set (out of print since 2014) is already showing as SOLD OUT on both the UK and US official stores. However, there is some confusion as to whether this is just the exclusive pre-order allocation made to subscribers to the The Beatles mailing list.

The entertainment bible, Variety, is reporting at last that there is definite movement on Paul McCartney's on-again, off-again animated children's feature film, High In The Clouds. The magazine says that "Celine Dion, Himesh Patel and Hannah Waddingham will lead the voice cast of High in the Clouds....which Gaumont (“Ballerina”) is producing and repping internationally." "Inspired by the children’s adventure book by…

Well, here's something a bit different. We know that George Harrison was a very keen gardener. There was a beautiful article at the end of 2023 in Country Life magazine on some of the work he did to bring the gardens of his country estate, Friar Park, back to life and the fantastic legacy he left there as those gardens continue to thrive today.
