for stream today we'll do something i've been meaning to play for a little while, the Steam release of Daymare Town! an old series of flash point and click games from the creator of the Submachine series, another favorite of mine. Unlike the Submachine series though, I have no memory of this place

Steam graphic for the game Daymare Town. On the right, A figure seemingly composed of a pale face with dark eyes and bright white pupils, long and straight but messy hair, and a pitch black body. on the left, black stylized text that says "Daymare Town"

last stretch: putting all the pieces onto the main structure. time consuming, but its fun watching everything come together that's it for this one! was fun doing one of these again, and hopefully it won't be the long before the next time (maybe a gunpla? been wanting to try one for awhile now)

miniature corner bookstore model in progress. some of the miniature pieces (potted plant, stacks of book, coffee grinder) now fill the left side

more stuff added. bookshelf, boxes with books in them, more potted plants, a telephone

even more stuff added! more stacks of books in various places, a small wooden stand sign, another table with books and a typewriter on it, more potted plants

completed rolife diy corner bookstore model, with light on

Bearnard the Demon Teddy 🐻 VTuber @bearnardvt.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

the part i was dreading! making individual mini books. the covers are stickers that are stuck onto small rectangular pieces of wood some of the book cover designs are actually pretty intricate and nice. its a shame that many of them end up blocked from view in the final product

several pieces of wood and a large sticker sheet full of "book cover" stickers

miniature wooden shelves, tables, and boxes filled with books and other decorative items

the finicky bits! i really miniature versions of things i always find this part super fun (even if its difficult) that "poetry room" sign will never not look like "Poetry 1200m" to me

collection of wooden miniature items - 3 sets of shelves, 3 boxes, 2 tables, a stool, a sign, and a basket containing some rolls of patterned paper and a sign in it saying "poetry room come in"

collection of miniature potted plants, a miniature wooden barrel, and a miniature telephone

plastic parts assembled into a mini typewriter and "wooden" coffee grinder

110

Bearnard the Demon Teddy 🐻 VTuber @bearnardvt.bsky.social · 02/05/2025

work continues! the main structure is coming together! after a bit more structure-ing, we'll start on the difficult part - making all the finicky small decorative bits

Rolife diy corner bookstore in progress. base and 1 wall (with window and blue door) in place

Rolife diy corner bookstore in progress. an orange "upper level" with a lamp has been placed onto the previously set wall

a small stone staircase with a grate at the base is added to the side

second wall with wooden door is placed over the stone staircase so that the staircase leads up to the doorway

120

Bearnard the Demon Teddy 🐻 VTuber @bearnardvt.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

another wall! this one had some interesting text/graffiti on it, which is kinda cool working with these fairly large and thick pieces is reassuring because it would take a lot to accidentally break one, but actually fitting them together is tough because they're so inflexible

wooden pieces that make up a wall/doorway section

2 sets of tiny graffiti text on the main doorway piece

upper bit reads: Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of your life.

lower bit reads: To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. and I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

2 bits of tiny graffiti text on the main doorway piece

upper bit reads: BLIND DATE WITH A BOOK
lower bit reads: A house that has a library in it has a soul - Plato

assembled wall section, with a faux-doorway on the left part of the wall, and a grated(?) window with a set of outward opening wooden window door things (what are those called? i don't know)

one of the walls! Quickly putting the earlier made door to good use. my experience with these had me expecting that the instructions would first have me create all the small finicky bits first before beginning work on the larger structure, but seems like this kit is doing it the other way round

wooden parts for one of the walls, including the previously made door

the wall assembled, featuring the blue door on the left and a window on the right

110

Bearnard the Demon Teddy 🐻 VTuber @bearnardvt.bsky.social · 26/04/2025

it begins! we started with a door and a shelf with some actually reasonable faux-books on it (they're just stickers on a piece of wood) this set seem to have discarded glue in favour of double sided tape. less messy, but everything also feels less secure

blue wooden pieces and a grey handle that make up a door, part of a sticker sheet for use in making the door is also present

wooden and metal pieces for making a small shelf

left: assembled miniature brown shelf with some "books" on display. right: assembled blue wooden door with an "open" sign on the front

close up of the 2 rows of "book covers" from the miniature shelf. top row: left: painting of van gogh with a orange bar over the eyes with text reading "vincent willem van gogh". center: a purple cover with some patterened circles? on it. right: blue cover with a painting of a face on it, title reads The Art of Language. bottom row: left: a closeup of graffiti art, title reads Graffiti Art & Free Love. center: brown cover with "attention!" written in tiny font in the center. right: green cover, with 2 identical photos of sigmund freud, one rotated upside down. title reads Ego and Id. freud's name is also legible
