6/7 I also plan to build out the remaining headline features - Nutrition logging, - Wearable integrations, - Developer features, - Social features and a web based deep analysis tool.

5/7 This is with the caveat that I have 25k followers and people (for reasons unknown to me) actively want to see me succeed. So even though this is a good baseline, it's still maybe a little inflated. This year, I plan to ramp up marketing and advertising and try to actually grow the app.

4/7 From the business side I focused just on building - not advertising or marketing. So here's what that looks like: - 2k Downloads - 400 Active users - $900 revenue - 4.8* across both stores - 182 on Discord - 2200 followers across platforms

3/7 From a developer perspective: - 70~ feature requests - 30~ bugs - 8 Releases - 2k~ hours - 136k lines of code - 1.3k commits - 1,534 files changed, +100,403 / -24,275 That's just for the app. Most of the code is manually written - AI has mostly only been used for refactoring work and tests.

2/7 Last year after months of building I finally released and I was absolutely blown away by the response! Hundreds of people downloaded, shared feedback, joined the community and even became paid subscribers. In the spirit of building in public - I wanted to share my outcomes.

Android makes cloud backups complicated. So I had to spend today creating mock data to test backup sizes. Android cloud backups have a 20mb per app limit. So far that's not been an issue for @bearly.fit. 1/5 #developerlife #react #buildinpublic #fitness

I figured not everyone wants every button in this menu so instead of making it fixed I've made it fully customizable! Allowing someone to - add new buttons, - remove a button - reorder buttons Later this will become a global menu allowing someone to access it anywhere in the app. 2/3

A Teddy bear is just there to listen to your troubles and be a warm supportive hug at night. I thought that was the perfect analogy for a health and fitness app. and so - the bear was born! I hope you enjoyed this little story 4/4

So I started thinking of ways to make it more friendly and accessible. Then it occurred to me - The Teddy Bear - They have a gender / religion / political party - They come in all shapes and sizes - They don't judge you - They're really difficult to project on to 3/4

Bearly Fit reflected my journey and I nailed the "not taking itself too seriously" part But a lot of fitness apps use Bears, Tigers, Leopards, Wolves. They were all what I would consider hyper masculine, if you weren't HUGE and STRONG and ANGRY then why are you even using our app? 2/4

3/3 Each category is now split in to - Basics - Body impact - Charts - Logs Allowing you to get a snapshot of a period time for exercise, nutrition, measurements or injuries. From a single day to an entire year. This will all go into version 1.4 coming soon! Thanks for reading!

2/3 Each section was a big long list before which didn't really give much room for improvements or expansion like charts and comparison tables. I was adding the Life logs to this area and decided whilst I was here I should make some improvements!
