Oh did you mean the front end of the snout? I was thinking the rectangularness of the muzzle itself. The cow has a nice taper triangle comparatively

The comic isn't switching to real media but I feel it illustrated the point quite well ;) I am highly dependent on mixed media for traditional art. It was an incredible challenge to do linework in paint and only one medium per panel 🖌️🐻 #TheBearMinimum #Traditionalart

Don't feel bad if your first inclination is to go into 'Fix it' mode. Even a "That's rough buddy" is a good start to getting your friend out of their funk. Listen, ask em about it rather than comparing it to a problem you had/have. I have to work on this too #Oldbearcomics #TheBearMinimum

Text reads: It is a kind impulse to want to fix a friend's problems, when they come to you upset. Offering advice to someone struggling can be very helpful.
Art depicts: friendbear approaching Holly with a cloud of gloom hovering over their sad expression. Holly is concerned and worried about them.

Text reads: However people often want their feelings validated and to be comforted first. This can lead to more frustration and misunderstandings if you jump right into 'fix it mode'.
Art depicts: Friendbear looking worse with a darker cloud as Holly bear offers solutions blindly goinf through a checklist saying: 'if its like this you could do that, or...'

Text reads: Taking some time to listen and commiserate can really make all the difference
Art depicts: Holly hugging friendbear and listening to their complaints while their sad cloud diminishes.

Text reads: Once their mood has improved a little, it is easier to plan and find solutions, if they are in need of them.
Art depicts: Holly bear asking if friendbear is ok through picture inference, Friendbear nodding in agreement the same way.
