I did switch, and my experience immediately improved. no regrets. although I feel like I'll probably keep using plexamp for music since I have that lifetime pass and it's still a pretty decent experience, but video media for sure is all jellyfin interface now

the latest Amazon TV app update is what put the nail in the coffin for me. self-hosted libraries are tucked out of the way, seems like basic navigation actions that used to take 2-4 clicks are now more like 10-20 clicks, and cursor movement and clicks suffer a 1-3 second lag.

based on their latest software update I'm fairly convinced Plex is explicitly sabotaging the self-hosting aspect of the platform. the fire stick Plex app has been nearly unusable since the latest update and the only way that would've passed testing is if the goal was to deter self-hosting
