Screen from the King of the Hill episode Earthy Girls are Easy in season 11 where Bobby and Joseph are inspired to start planting trees to offset their carbon emissions and it quickly goes awry when the town's biggest propane dealer Buck Strickland (Hank Hill's boss) co-opts the boy's idea for his own ends.

In the screen you see Buck Strickland talking to a forward facing male character while Dale Gribble is standing next to him. The Dialogue reads "Nothing's going to change and you get paid."

Picture of a hand holding up a chocolate bar. CHOCO LAKE brand Kunafa Bisco chocolate bar. The product description reads "Milk chocolate with Kunafa bisco cream paste filling." They are delicious (4 servings in the 6.7 ounce bar, they are segmented so you can break a piece off and share) but also contain milk, soy, wheat so food allergy havers might have to stay away.

but that will be after my root canal & course of antibiotics that may or may not mess with my stomach even more. Probably should have more clearly flagged this in the first post as a gross medical drama warning
Screenshot of the 1980's Garfield & Friends cartoon show where Garfield is seated at a table and using his right hand/paw to quickly shove pasta into his mouth. There are noodles over his shoulder from the vigorous eating. I included this because I thought it was funny to pair a cat eating pasta with a thread about intestinal parasites because the information packet I was given about the issue said they could have come from exposure via pets who ate something weird or from contaminated food...and noodles look like worms.

My big $0.25 thrift store find today: a copy of the February 2001 issue of Yahoo! Internet Life magazine (complete with the postcards inside to subscribe to it) featuring Monica Lewinsky on the cover using a Palm Pilot device
Photo of the cover of the February 2001 issue of YAHOO! Internet Life Magazine featuring Monica Lewinsky with bangs over her forehead and a Burberry jacket that has the collar popped) on the cover using an early Palm Pilot device (she has the stylus in her right hand and the phone in her left with the antenna extended out). The headlines on the cover read:
- Gadgets are Hot: Secrets of the Portable Web
- Net to Go: Email, News Stocks. What really works for you?
-PLUS: Internet Radio Guide, Car Buying Sites, Winter Getaways, Katz on Napster

Also the caption to the picture of Monica Lewinsky says "Monica Moves on: Monica Lewinsky: Web Entrepreneur"

Very targeted ad I just came across on another platform: a Latino nightclub in North Carolina hosting a "Dubai Night" (whatever that means). I'm like the exact opposite audience for much of it (the nightclub and weird kingdom setting part, not the Latino part)
Screenshot of an Instagram advertisement for the "Pipe Avenue USA" night at the Dubai Nightlife nightclub in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 4th 2025 (the text is in Spanish so it reads Abril 04). Centered in the ad is a male model best described as looking like a cartel hitman Tom Brady with medium length, spiked, very full hair, seemingly photoshopped facial features like perfectly full eyebrows, dimpled chin and instagram selfie perfected cheeks/jawline. The man is wearing a dark suit with a very light blue dress shirt and dark colored tie. His hands are raised in a boxer or fighters stance and has a large ring on a finger of both of his hands.

People love "downpours and thunderstorms while there's still a lot of snow on the ground in the UP and northern lower peninsula" season (yes I know it's normal though there is just soo much snow left in some places)
Screenshot of the Doppler weather radar showing most of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and most of the Lower peninsula west of an imaginary north south line between Cheboygan & Ann Arbor. There is a band of heavy rain or thunderstorms, indicated by darker orange and red colors, amid green colors that indicate rain moving from west to east across the upper peninsula from approximately Munising down to Beaver Island.

I'd try to do some Flight of the Conchords show era Jermaine sideburns but instead of looking like a Union army general I'd look like a right wing internet dork
Screenshot of Jermaine Clement in the HBO show Flight of the Conchords where his hair is quite shaggy (covering half of his forehead and eclipsing his ears) and his sideburns are quite thick and reaching down his jaw well below his ears.

In the scene he is wearing a light colored t-shirt shirt with a black long sleeve shirt under it while seated in a chair with arms crossed. He is saying"I'm just sitting down. It's my free time. I can do whatever I like. This is what I like to do."

Saw a porcupine in my friends yard today. It just wandered the edge of their yard munching on the remaining leaves on the blackberry plants.
A porcupine is seen at the edge of a yard bordered by blackberry plants and oak trees. The light & dark brown colors of the porcupine make it visually blend into the fallen leaves accumulated at the edge of the grassy area.

If anyone wants a copy of the THE JUGGALO SHOW: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION 4 CD box set from the group Insane Clown Posse for $50 you should get to the Marinette, WI Goodwill soon. I just thought it was funny but it was selling for $200-300 on eBay
Image of an orange, red, and black colored box with the words "Insane Clown Posse THE JUGGALO SHOW: The Complete Collection" on it with a price tag from Goodwill that says "$49.99" on top of a glass display case found in stores.

The word JUGGALO is in a large comedic bubble letter font and has cartoon illustrations of the Insane Clown Posse leaders Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope with long dreadlock hair and black & white face paint.

I'm feeling like a lot of the Jim Varney Emotions Chart faces today
A four images by four images grid of the late actor Jim Varney making facial expressions to match the emotion listed below each image in the style of the posters used to help children learn about and understand/express their emotions. The emotions listed are suprised, sad, mad, shy happy, tired, confused, suspicious, frightened, confident, sleepy, disgusted, embarrassed, disappointed, stunned, and guilty. Jim Varney had a wildly expressive face (he was a stage actor in addition to doing commercials and movies) and does a worthy representation of each. Some of the emotions (suspicious, frightened, sleepy, embarrassed, disappointed, and guilty) incorporate hand gestures similar to how one would act them out on stage.

An Instagram ad I got tonight that actually caught my attention
A screenshot of an Instagram ad promoting limited edition Dumpster Fire Challenge Coins, a commemorative coin with the image of a green dumpster with orange and yellow flames emerging from it. Bordering the edges of the coin is the phrase "the strongest steel is forged in the fire of a dumpster" and below the coin is a link to the website where the coin can be purchased www.bonnhome.com

I couldn't find an isolated clip of John Slattery's creepy/deranged 30 Rock Republican candidate character Steve Austin on YouTube but thankfully the stills live on in the Funcooker funcooker.fun/Frame/5/7/131
A 30 Rock screenshot of Actor John Slattery (an older skinny white man with gray hair and blue eyes) wearing a plaid shirt with a red & blue vest. In his right hand he has a campaign merchandise red, white, and blue baby rattle with the name STEVE AUSTIN printed on it which is the name of his character in the episode. The text is dialogue from the scene with Slattery's character talking to Alec Baldwin's character Jack Donaghy. Slattery is saying "goo-goo, ga-ga, Jack" while holding the rattle and Jack Donaghy reaponds "What's that?"Screenshot from 30 Rock with actor John Slattery as a character named Steve Austin dressed up as a baby with a large adult size white bonnet with a large bow below his neck holding a large campaign merchandise red white and blue baby rattle that has STEVE AUSTIN printed on it (in the episode the character Steve Austin is a deranged republican US Senate candidate that Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy character is supporting in an election because he is running against a Democratic party Senator character played by actress Queen Latifah). The scene is during an in-show campaign commercial for Steve Austin and he is saying "Our country has lost it's way."Screenshot from 30 Rock with actor John Slattery as a character named Steve Austin dressed up as a baby with a large adult size white bonnet with a large bow below his neck holding a large campaign merchandise red white and blue baby rattle that has STEVE AUSTIN printed on it (in the episode the character Steve Austin is a deranged republican US Senate candidate that Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy character is supporting in an election because he is running against a Democratic party Senator character played by actress Queen Latifah. The text quote on screen says "My name is Steve Austin"). But, if my assumption that the character was actually in St. Ignace and went down US-2 (or at least they took US-2 after crossing the Mac) then they could have reached both Sioux Falls, South Dakota or Fargo, North Dakota in the 12 hours in the song (reaching Fargo in 11 hours, 30 minutes possibly)
Screenshot of Google Maps directions from Mackinaw City, MI to Fargo, North Dakota estimated to take 11 hours and 3o minutes traveling 656 miles that go across Michigan's Upper Peninsula, through northern Wisconsin, and northern Minnesota to finally reach Fargo.

Adam @beardedenviro.bsky.social · 28/03/2024
Also, assuming Seger's subject in the song actually reached the northern plains (Western Minnesota or the Dakotas) going south out of Mackinaw City isn't really an option because you're not reaching those places in 12 hours going through Chicago (& the Lake Express ferry didn't exist in the 1970's)
Google Maps screenshot showing directions to go from Mackinaw City, MI to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The fastest route is highlighted and takes 11 hours, 58 minutes to travel 746 miles and goes though Michigan's Upper Peninsula, northern Wisconsin and Mid Minnesota. The route shown that goes south through the Michigan's Lower Peninsula, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Mid-South Minnesota to reach South Dakota takes 14 hours, 44 minutes with no miles traveled shown.

Looking at a westbound road from Mackinaw City doesn't mean many main roads. Like maybe US-31 if he was a bit south of town but maybe he just misremembered and was actually in St. Ignace. US-2 would make more sense but "12 hours out of St. Ignace" doesn't fit the rhyme scheme.
Screenshot of Google Maps looking at northern Michigan centered on the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge with the cities of St. Ignace on the northern end of the bridge and Mackinaw City on the south end. US-75 is the road going north to south with US-31 forking off to the west from it 10 miles or so south of the Mackinac Bridge while US-2 goes west from US-75 just north of the Mackinac Bridge.

Love to wear summer clothes to work & see turtles sunning themselves & hear various frogs in the ponds & forests around the area... then see it is supposed to snow in a couple days.
An unrelated screenshot from the episode of the animated show KING OF THE HILL where the character Peggy Hill risks her health to cross the blood donation visit threshold to get a free Blood Donor coffee cup. In the episode she gets gradually weaker and weaker from donating too frequently & by the end of the episode there is the scene depicted in the photo where Peggy is weak and near fainting, laying on her stomach in the Hill family yard, with a bandage on the right arm from the blood donation she just departed from and in the hand of her outstretched left arm is the blood donor coffee mug (just out of frame)

Didn't make my FF league playoffs but with 2 weeks of the season that I can mess with my roster/accumulate points to maybe move my final placement I did the most normal thing & dropped all my players who might help others & added a bunch of former Lions & guys w. funny names (with alt text details)
A fantasy football team roster made up of:

New England Patriots Quarterback Bailey Zappe...who has a fun name but is not good and has been benched mid game previously but is starting over Mac Jones who is also terrible

Current Detroit Lions Wide Receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Donovan Peoples-Jones. Amon-Ra is terrific and leads the team in receiving...Peoples-Jones has gone without a catch in many games since he was acquired.

Running backs are Las Vegas Raiders player Amir Abdullah & New Orleans Saints player Jamaal Williams (both are former Lions who are not their current teams top running back).

Tight end position is filled by Carolina Panthers player Tommy Tremble who has a fun name but their team is awful.

Kicker is Arizona Cardinals player Matt Prater, a former Lion who has made some of the longest field goals in NFL history.

And my team defense for the week is the Minnesota Vikings just so I can ham it up when the Lions do well against them this week

Having a phone full of various TV show pictures/memes (Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, and King of the Hill mostly) leaves me a little unprepared when being informed of sad news & the wording of the message merits a reply. So I replied with the most sentimental picture I'd saved: a stressed out dog

friend showed me a pic of him & his dad from 1997 & laughed at how much he looked like his dad. Meanwhile next to them is a glorious owl table lamp that was the only thing I even noticed in it. "Yeah, sure, you look like him...PLEASE TELL ME YOU OR HIM STILL HAVE THAT LAMP." Similar one on eBay
Picture of a large vintage porcelain table lamp in the shape of two owls, one on the right standing at least four times the size of the one on the left implying the small one is an owlet. Colors are muted brown wings with white & light brown undersides with large eyes made with glass that reflects in the light.
