Patriarchal domination does not just live in the big moments. It lives in what we laugh off, what we stay quiet about, and what we pass down without questioning. We have the power to interrupt that. And we have every reason to.

That is not an indictment of Black men. It is a call to them. A call to us. Because protecting Black women cannot start at the funeral. It has to start in the conversations we have, the behaviors we name, the boys we raise, and the men we hold accountable when they fall short.

There is a crisis unfolding in real time and we have to be willing to name it clearly. Black women are being taken from us, not by strangers, not by the unknown, but by people who called them family. People who shared their beds, their dinner tables, their last names.
ONE WAY WE PROTECT BLACK WOMEN
IS BY TEACHING & HOLDING BLACK
MEN ACCOUNTABLE TO A MANHOOD THAT ISN’T ABOUT PATRIARCHAL DOMINATION.

So when we return to ancestral ways of healing—community care, embodiment, spirituality, collective support—we are not reaching for something new. We are reclaiming what was always ours. This is resistance. This is remembrance. This is repair. It is ancestral. It is ours.

Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective @beamorg.bsky.social · 10/04/2026
We held each other. We sang, moved, prayed, witnessed, and healed in ways that honored the fullness of who we are. Colonization disrupted that. It renamed our ways as primitive, erased our practices, and replaced them with systems that often criminalize, or disconnect us from ourselves.

Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective @beamorg.bsky.social · 10/04/2026
Our healing lineage didn’t begin in Europe—it began in Africa. Before diagnoses, before clinical language, before systems that pathologize our pain—there were traditions rooted in community, spirit, land, and rhythm.

Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective @beamorg.bsky.social · 07/04/2026
So today: come back to yourself. Take a breath. Check in with your body. Reach out to someone you trust. And if you need to, step away from the news for a little while. That's not avoidance, that's self-preservation. How are you doing today, for real? We're here and we want to know.
010
Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective @beamorg.bsky.social · 07/04/2026
You are not alone in what you're feeling. This community was built on the belief that our healing matters, not just in the good moments, but especially in the hard ones. Especially when the world outside is loud and uncertain and scary.

Anxiety can look like scrolling. Grief can look like numbness. Fear can look like just… going through the motions. We want to slow down with you for a second.

Some news stops you in your tracks. Today might be one of those days. When the world feels this unstable, it's easy to stay glued to your phone, refreshing, absorbing, bracing without realizing how much your body and mind are taking on.
How am I?
a self check-in
We are our first resource. Noticing what needs are present within us helps us identify how we can support ourselves as we identify what support we need from others.

Emotional
What am I feeling? What helps me to feel resourced and grounded before taking on something that requires more from me?

Mental
What are my thoughts right now? How are they impacting me? What fear of how folks will perceive me is getting in the way of asking for the help I need?

Physical
Am I hungry? Am I tired? Am I in pain? What am I feeling in my body and where? What is/are the message(s) my body is sending about my needs?

We used EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)—a gentle, body-based practice that combines tapping on pressure points with naming what’s coming up. It helps regulate the nervous system, soften overwhelm, and move emotions through instead of holding them in.

Autism looks different on everyone. The differences may show up subtly or recognizably. It looks like the child overwhelmed by bright lights and loud sounds in a grocery store, trying to stay regulated. The adult masking their needs just to get through a workday.

Black trans communities are navigating the compounded impact of racism, transphobia, medical neglect, and systemic harm—and still creating spaces of care, brilliance, and resistance. Fighting for Black trans lives is mental health work. It’s harm reduction. It’s community care.

For a lot of trans people, today carries both pride and pain. Kansas just made it legal to strip trans people of valid ID, restrict where they can exist in public, and sue them for simply being visible. Celebrating trans lives means protecting them too. Save this and share it!
Things You Need To Know (Kansas Outline)
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1,700 KANSANS HAD THEIR LICENSES REVOKED. NOT FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS. FOR BEING TRANSGENDER.

BEAM
BLACK EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH COLLECTIVETHINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1,700+ driver's licenses and birth certificates were immediately invalidated, requiring people to pay for new documents reflecting their sex assigned at birth.

Trans people must use bathrooms and locker rooms in all government buildings, including schools, based on sex assigned at birth.

Private citizens can sue for $1,000 if they feel "aggrieved" by someone using a restroom that doesn't match their birth sex.

Repeated violations can result in a class B misdemeanor charge.

Our healing was never waiting on a license. For generations, it was passed down through our communities. Our ancestors were therapists long before the world had a word for it.
Before they allowed us to be therapists, our communities had healers and counselors who have healed generations
