Finally, I'm really jealous that Leander's book is for sale at a reasonable price. I have not been able to get my publisher to list it for mass consumption, which may explain why I'm one of the few authors to lose money not just on self-published books but on one that went through a publishing house

I'm actually hoping soccer follows the NFL's path and sticks with replay until they get better at it. No one ever says "the Commanders beat the Chiefs yesterday amidst VAR controversy." (Partly because the Commanders haven't beaten the Chiefs since 1983.) People may blame refs, but not the process.

We all love good jokes about flopping, ties and boring games -- see The Simpsons and Key & Peele -- especially as the actual anti-soccer dinosaurs in the media (which Busbee is NOT) all go extinct. But ... VAR? Huh? The NFL experimented with replay in the 80s and has used it since 1999.

8 minutes from West Falls to Vienna (including stop at Dunn Loring). 2 minute stopover at Vienna. 8 minutes back. 2 minute stopover at West Falls. That’s 20 minutes. That’s reasonable. Saying it’ll take 24 and then not even holding to THAT? Why?

I’ll have to see if we get PDC here. I saw Jomboy on YouTube breaking down that wild MLC finish with the hat trick and a game-clinching six in the final over. I didn’t think I’d enjoy the World Cup, but I have. It’s made the USA remember that the rest of the world is pretty cool.

Case in point: US freestyle skier Svea Irving was injured in her first run. She skipped her second but might be back for her third. A search for Svea Irving picked up nothing from today. (Yes, I sorted by date. Nothing.) I don't have X any more, but I'd bet there are dozens, maybe hundreds there.

Is anyone else just not particularly interested in the World Cup this year? I have no desire to watch Infantino and Trump's extended honeymoon. Maybe if some #USMNT players had the courage of a Hunter Hess or a Rich Ruohonen, my interest would pick up. Otherwise, it's all MLS and NWSL for me.

I’d argue Esme Morgan shouldn’t have seen yellow unless she dropped a few magic words — dissent should be more than an outburst — and Ary Borges should’ve seen yellow for a cynical foul at midfield. I’m surprised they didn’t take a longer look at the Louisville goal. Generally, though, pretty good.

Looks onside from this view, but I have a small phone, so … Soccer’s unfair sometimes. In no way, shape or form does Louisville deserve to be level here, and there have been some cynical fouls. But the Spirit have wasted tons of chances, too. #nwsl #WASvLOU
