For Bandcamp Daily, I put together a guide to great Peel Sessions available on @bandcamp.com, in part to honor the 20th anniversary of John Peel's passing. This was fun! I hope you'll take a look and listen. ⬇️ daily.bandcamp.com/lists/peel-s...

funnily enough, Mama's Broke was the best thing i saw last week at Sisters Folk Festival in Oregon. i failed to take video, but here's what they looked like, a cappella-style.

Today is Bandcamp Friday! For 24 hours, we waive our revenue share, so even more of every purchase goes to the artists and labels behind the music. Go forth. The music is waiting: bit.ly/4hW8Snx

Did you buy it before the move to Carpark? I bought the tape from Rotten Apple early on and all the tracks disappeared when they announced the reissue. (And to be fair, Rotten Apple very kindly sent me the tracks when I asked about it!)

and by "big-label" I mean "relatively big-label" or "bigger-label" since the two in my examples - Carpark and Merge, respectively - aren't exactly mega-corporations.

Impossible, I guess, but it'd be nice if there was some way to know when a self-release/small-label release you bought on Bandcamp is gonna get taken down ahead of a big-label reissue so you could download the files. I lost access to both the Good Flying Birds and Tanner York albums that way.

i saw that! i bet that was fun. i mean ... "always go to the show" sounds good, but it ain't realistic. you can't always go to the show. sometimes you have to sit at home and eat snacks and watch Family Feud or something.

Perennial Death Records started as a way for a few friends in Olympia to put their own music on wax. Fifteen years later, the label has grown into a vital home for underground guitar pop from Olympia and far beyond.
