retiring KG’s 21 then, and deservedly so. Unfortunately that makes tickets scarce to come by now. The prices being asked for decent seats are so exorbitant that I’d rather just spend that money for a game in Boston. I was at the last Cs game played at the old Garden on 5/5/95. So I’m long 2/4

<deep breath> When the NBA schedule is released I always see when the Cs are playing in Minnesota. I was happy to learn they play here on a Sunday night, Feb 28th. With the exception of a couple of years, I never miss a Cs game here in MN (35+ years). A little later I learned the Wolves are 1/4

Last year everyone thought the Cs would struggle to be a playoff team in the East. That wasn’t the case. Yes, we lost JB but we have JT back, plus PG and Mitch. Our talent level is higher and deeper than last season. Not sure why so many are spewing doom and gloom right now.

I would think PP comes off the bench. He thrives in that role. Guessing that one of SH/BS/HG starts in the backcourt with DW. JT & PG can help bring the ball up and facilitate. Allowing DW to play off ball in the half court for catch & shoot opportunities.

Not many. I’m going to guess < 5. There might be a few games he sits against a lowly opponent, especially if part of a B2B (WAS, BRK, MEM). But I think we see 100% JT. I think the only way he sits more is if he’s actually injured. But if he’s healthy it’s the usual workload.

Haven’t forgotten. I’m not counting on much from him. Whatever we get from him is bonus. Teams that have traded for him have done so expecting him to be their savior. This time around he’s seen for what he is. PG13 has a bad contract. JB’s contract has the potential to be worse.

The old adage is: You can’t score if you don’t have the ball. Not sure if we’ll lead the league in rebounds, but we actually might (3rd last season) A core tenet of Mazzulla ball is having the advantage in scoring opportunities. The main ways to do that are keep turnovers down & REBOUND. ☘️🏀

Agreed. Playoffs will depend on health, bigs playing great defense, and overall better team shot selection. Pace may need to pick up a hair to generate more easy baskets. Hope the ball sticks less on offense (less iso) and the defense creates a few more turnovers leading to transition buckets.

So many people dismiss the Cs chances this year. Teams that “win” the offseason don’t always win more. We’re going to be right there in the mix at the top of the conference as usual. A healthy JT and the play of our bigs will be the most important factors to continued success.

From a spacing perspective defenses have to respect his shot so it does open the floor. His streakiness is problematic when he shoots and misses in high volumes. When he’s cold from 3 I’d love to see him pump fake and drive for a shorter middy 2. He’s started doing this at times with some success.

Like this, but we’ve time for legit options to become clear. We can’t aggregate PG with another Celtic for 60 days after his trade was official. Which would be Sept 5th. There’s time for any disgruntled stars to make their cases known & still have time to pull the trigger before training camp.

At this point we’d be moving him for someone making about the same money. So probably not worth moving right now. At the trade deadline or more likely next summer I could see him being part of a trade package to match salaries. I’d like to see Baylor or Hugo start with Sam coming off the bench.

Fair. I think the moves Brad has made have all really been to position us to make big moves at the trade deadline or more likely, next summer. Juggling the financial balance sheet to stay under the aprons while providing “optionality” to strike on a big deals when they present themselves.

07 provided a reset that had KG not gotten hurt would’ve gotten at least one more chip. It still got us out of the cellar and laid the foundation for this era. While this era has produced only one title so far, we’ve been right there. I’m hopeful we get another couple before the JT era ends.

Sam Presti lost Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins, & Isaiah Joe this summer for 7 2nd round picks. The aprons are real. OKC prides itself on depth and just dumped 3 players for nothing. No one is saying Presti suddenly doesn’t know what he’s doing… Brad was the first to deal with it, but won’t be the last.

Brad is working to navigate through these rules. This season will be competitive and better suited for playoffs. We’ll figure out needs and I do believe we will be set to make an ALL IN run at trades and free agents again next summer. Hang in there, more banners are on the way.

First off. Never be embarrassed to be a Celtics fan. Period. Second. Yeah we had a major weakness at Center. Losing 3 quality bigs was more than we could handle against quality opponents. Disarray might be a stronger word than I would use, but definitely we were reacting rather than dictating.

I mean, we replaced Jrue, KP, Horford, and Luke with Simons/Vuc & Garza. Plus heavy minutes from Queta, Baylor, Walsh, & Hugo. Season didn’t end the way we’d had hoped, but this group exceeded expectations significantly. Aprons forced Brad to find cheaper replacement talent, and he has done well.

Traded off players to get under the apron, so he got us out of financial jail. And yet with his star player hurt for most of the season, the Cs still won 56 games and were the 2 seed in the East. That really stood out. Did we already forget it was supposed to be a gap year, but it wasn’t?

Many years ago I had a Cs pennant hanging in my room. I had it until it fell apart. Obviously I bought other pennants & banners over the years, but none had that connection to my soul. Last week I saw a pristine version of it for sale. Today it hangs in my home office and my inner child is happy.

Should be noted they coached him up a bit, then put him back in the game. Obviously he made plays (game tying 3!) in the clutch to pull out the win. That’s what you hope to see from your young players and the coaching staff.
