This goddamn clown, and I'm not coulrophobic
The Crimson Clown from the "Tale of the Crimson Clown" episode of ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK. A tall ass motherfucker in a red suit, an inflated head, purple hair, and a face smiling sinisterly at you. Demonspawn!

Trying out marathoning horror movies this October, and here's one on my mind

I'm normally terrible at these things, but I'm gonna try to watch at least one horror movie a day in October, starting with

This is just every nightmare roommate story you read on Reddit where the setting is Portland.

Well, this movie sounds like little more than a Sound of Freedom clone, so yeah I can see why it’s failing big time, especially given the dude’s, well, peculiarities as a director.

They’re called wedge-tailed eagles. Ironically, they’re only 3 feet in height…so imagine how terrifying they have to be to take down a 6 foot tall rodent with a prison yard build.

Teen years ago, this fuck was the fake-suave, Patrick Bateman-wannabe prince charming of the far right. Now he looks like Jeb, Earl’s evil twin brother that works in a gas station and shoots up heroine because his life is ruined after being put in the sex offender registry.
Milo Yiannopolus, a recent photo from his ICE detainment. He is in a plain black shirt, thin and scraggly mustache/beard combo, messy hair, and he looks like he wants to die.

The crappiness of that bullshit "Rowling supports trans adults" article aside, can we appreciate how whomever took the picture of Rowling clearly wanted to cast her in as bad a light as possible because WOOF

Another one I'll throw in -- Junji Ito Every interview I have seen of him, the man just gives off that energy. The way he hyperfixates on certain images and phobias Like, the ENIGMA OF AMIGARA FAULT just reads as a coded autistic fear of having your hyperfixation turn on you somehow

Post a picture of a creative who gives you vibes of being on the spectrum. David Lynch — like, come on now, if anybody was an undiagnosed autistic, it definitely was him.

Letterboxd reviewer: Everyone reading this movie is wrong, stupid, and not engaging with what it really is! Me: Oh, wow, that's some harsh declaration. Are you going to explain why? Letterboxd reviewer:

For those of you wondering what the post is. Anyway, framing your fictional preferences as “ethical” is bullshit. No matter if you read cozy romcoms or hardcore BDSM with dubcon and diaper roleplay. I don’t care if it’s “ethical”. Just tell me if it’s fucking hot.

Aside from how ridiculous and missing the point in removing the religious element of Margaret White's abuse toward Carrie. I'm not alone in him describing Carrie's mom this way as offensive, right? It reads like abuse apologia.

I recently finished TORMENTED SOULS, and, look, this game is definitely flawed. It's a low budget fair made by like 2 Argentinians. But the atmosphere and aesthetics? FUCKING A!! Outstanding. It had me unnerved and kept me going to the end. And aside from a frustrating final boss, I had a good time.

4) I am now adding "AM in I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST SCREAM wasn't hateful, Ted was just projecting" Because that's not just a bad take, it is flatout stupid. There is no hope for you. We may have to torch you just in case you're contagious

10) 500 DAYS OF SUMMER — The romantic movie of the millennial generation, one whose core message is still misunderstood despite being clearly stated. One with an optimistic ending if you’d just pay attention.

9) HARLEY QUINN AND THE BIRDS OF PREY I love for the simple fact that we FINALLY have a superhero movie with fights that feel like actual fights as opposed to cgi slugfests. There is weight here, actual stunts pulled. YOU CAN SEE FIGHTS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. Too bad the genre still won’t learn!

8) SPLIT FICTION — played this all the way through with a friend of mine recently, and while this game has a basic story, it’s the gameplay that absorbs me. It’s a unique action platformer and puzzle solver that stands out in a sea of same-y AAA games. This shit is fun.

7) Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) — This one makes me sad ngl. Kamala Khan was what Marvel needed to get the then current gen of teens into comics. She should’ve become their Peter Parker instead of being squadered. And nothing proves that more than the initial run by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona
Cover of the original Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan run by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphonsa. Kamala is shown, face cut off, wearing the Ms Marvel lightning bolt on her shirt while in civilian clothes.

6) “Brian Azzarello writes a Superman book” sounds like a joke, but it’s real and, honestly, it slaps. It‘s a darker story but not in a try-hard grimdark way. Superman makes a terrible mistake when trying to do good, and he has to correct it. Better than what ZSnyder did with him!
A cover of SUPERMAN: FOR TOMORROW drawn by Jim Lee, written by Brian Azzarello. Supe’s doing his heroic pose while flying shtick, but the colors are desaturized to give it a darker look.

5) Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga — I don’t often post about video games, least of all Nintendo, but this game is so fun. An upbeat turn-based RPG that’s addictive to play. I should know, I spent the summer of 2003 with my face buried in my GBA over this thing!

4) BLACK PANTHER — Look, say what you will about the MCU (and anyone who knows me knows I have A LOT of bad things to say about it), but Ryan Coogler cooked here! He made something that actually felt grand and operatic. Chad Boseman was a treasure taken from us too soon!

3) MAMO — Sas Milledge Was this comic slept on? Idk, it shouldn’t be though because this one of the few times a western cartoonist got Hayao Miyazaki beyond aesthetics and understood why his work for younger audiences is profound, and it does so while being its own unique adventure. Great YA comic
Cover of Sas Milledge’s MAMO. It shows the two human protagonists plus a black cat exploring the woods together.

2) Torches — Foster the People This whole era of alt rock and pop (2009-2015 roughly) is overlooked and even hated on currently, but Torches is a fantastic album. It’s not just Pumped Up Kicks. Personal fav tracks are Waste and Don’t Stop (Color On the Walls).

1) X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX. Yeah, I‘m as shocked as you are, but what can I say? The movie has a unique scifi horror feel going on, and it’s the only movie that ever called out Professor Xavier for using teenagers as a paramilitary army in which he spent a lot of time keeping “bad” mutants in check.

I started playing CROW COUNTRY last night, and I love it. A slow-going 90s survival horror game that doesn't feel like it merely wants to be an RE classic clone, but take that foundation to make a fresh, strangely whimsical IP. Can't wait to finish it.
Poster for the indie horror game CROW COUNTRY. Our main protagonist, a woman with purple hair, wearing a white dress, red gloves, and brown boots. She is in the ticket booth area of the park, where she is surrounded by a real crow and artificial crows such as a crow face on top of the ticket booth, a trash can, and statue. Ton of debris on the ground, including trash, a medkit bloodstains, an explosive barrel, and ammunition. There is a fence around the area, since the park was closed down years ago.

KURONEKO. A woman and her daughter-in-law are raped and murdered by a gang of samurai. They come back as vengeful spirits and pick their murderers off one by one. Things get complicated when the son/husband returns, and he’s now a samurai.
