"Invite the unusual suspects" and "Give compassion to yourself and to others" stand out, but all of the points on the slide are very important points we can learn from as leaders, shared at the end of the presentations by Human Early Learning Partnership, at the BCSTA Trustee Academy. #bced #bcpoli

The image shows a presentation slide with the title "We are the system and how we show up matters." Below the title, there is a list of bullet points:

Give compassion to yourself and to others

Practice and practice present awareness

Listen to voices one at a time

Take more time

Embrace mistakes and failure

Challenge yourself to learn new things

Expect the work to never be finished

Lean into discomfort

Invite the unusual suspects

Reflect

We're glad to be guests at the BCSTA Trustee Academy for the next couple of days. Currently listening to keynote speaker Shane Safir on street data. Love this image and the question of how to orient governance decisions towards student agency. #bcsta #bced #StudentVoice

The image presents a framework titled "Orienting to Student Agency," which visually depicts layers leading to "Agency" at the center. The layers include Identity, Belonging, Inquiry, and Efficacy, each paired with affirming statements, such as "My ways of being, learning, and knowing are valued here" and "I can make a difference around the things that matter to me." It highlights a student-centered approach to education, emphasizing empowerment, inclusion, and engagement.
