I want to make characters out of random things.

All sorts of different things are being looked at for making characters and story.
Gummyworm is juxtaposed to marshmallow, with a monsterous hybrid.
Thought ballons: A lawn rake, a mound of dirt and gravel for asphalt, and a fireplace/hearth.
An abandoned grain elevator has "spooky castle" written below it.
Also, some headaches for the sky of a fifth season.

@twotailsfox.bsky.social I borrowed your time machine to go some place with lower system requirements.

This place seems like the Midwest of the 19th century.

I've installed FreeDOS into DOSBox. It was very easy. Extracted the contents of the live CD into a folder using an archiver, mounted it as drive A, mounted an empty folder as drive C, ran SETUP from A, restarted, mounted C again and ran FDAUTO on each DOSBox startup. I like computing this way.

After the setup is all done I read about the plain text EDIT program by typing HELP EDIT at the prompt.

After installing FreeDOS into my DOSBox C folder, I run FDAUTO, which sets up the environment overrides.

Deluxe Paint also works well on here now.

Here's what it looked like before all the edits.

The original crow quill lines before going to the scanner.

@drawywild.bsky.social Done with crow quill pen before scanning and a week of editing. I tried and tried to capture his cute appeal but really struggled. #Art #ArtFight #Furry #Kemono

Sketch the fox. His fur is goldenrod yellow with blue accents. His eyes are blue and he has a pink nose. Today he is wearing shorts. The scene is an interior area of cool grey gradient wall and hardwood floor.

Over at #ArtFight, MechaMars has been drawing more than a thousand characters on scratch paper, focusing on users that don't yet have defenses. They got around to drawing Teru! Art by: artfight.net/~MechaMars

What does all this even mean? The so-called MoU is effectively a treaty of Versailles, complete with horrifically expensive reparations! The creditors are going to come knocking. Israel will never stop. Evangelicals want the third temple. Infighting. And this is interim. Final deal could be worse!

[ This is my team card. It is black and red with all sorts of information and four characters I make. Teru the grey fox, his friend Soval the red fox, Ketchup the white bakery cat, Nomark the villain, and Rose the tux cat. The card has my participation dynamics such as Friendly Fire = yes, Revenge = yes, Mass Attack = yes. Character forms circled are "Feral, Monster, Worm, and Anthro." ]

Page 9 is ready. It was difficult to complete as GIMP doesn't work anymore and isn't the right tool for these. #TeruAndSoval #Comic #Art #Furry

On this page, after Soval requested the Brookrog's hat, Teru is feeling reluctant to give it up. It is a special hat from a mad monster hatter. It is persuasive, so Teru believes it to be his friend now.

At the zoo I saw a river toad and an endangered red wolf. The zookeepers teach about the animals and where they live.
